Hi There,

John and I have been working hard on determining what sort of look and feel people want in BodyShop. We currently have three themes:

1) Default
2) Onyx
3) Basic Blue

We have received scattered feedback of people not liking the default theme, so I wanted to post this poll to find out really what people like/prefer.

We have also ran into multiple people saying they don't like the darker theme, we want to get a realistic picture of if the majority prefers lighter or darker? If you could also post your preference in regards to this, it will help us greatly. Thanks!

I also want to remind everyone that I am working on a new theme that uses a light color palette and will look clean and modern. I'm not sure when it will be done, but I'll make an announcement when it's available.

Before I start let me just say how much I appreciate all of the hard work you've both put into this project, I'm designing and developing something very similar myself, though it's taking me ages!.

I think in any project such as this it is impossible to please the masses. I know this first hand because I do this for a living. I myself am not a fan of the blue / darker themes, but that's not because of the darkness or the blue, it's simply down to the lack of whitespace. It makes it all feel very noisy.

I offer this feedback served on a nice big plate of clean and healthy gratitude!

Keep up the good work.

Personally I don't mind the colour scheme. Then again colour is one thing that will always be a personal choice and 100 people will probably have 100 opinions.

Great work guys.

I second the appreciation for the product and the work that has gone into it.

I run the existing JSF forums with a light theme and just about any other themed site with a light theme. I find it easier to read and simply more comfortable. I can't really explain why.

The ad spaces all have the same image as well, which I think compounds the very confined feeling. A lighter theme and some variation on the ads that may also add more light content should make a huge difference.
