View Full Version : No Wonder! Some good bread brands...
TheLemonSong Thu, May 20th, 2004, 10:32 PM There was a previous post about HFCS in whole wheat bread, and I just check to see if it was in mine and it is...the n-facts still look good, and its better than the buttertop wheat I was eating..but does anyone have any suggestions for what some good whole wheat breads might be?
Also, can someone try to list the calories, I've found that lots of whole wheat breads have 150-200 calories and that makes eating a sandwhich out of the question! -Thanks

Fat has 9 calories per gram. Carbs and Protein have four calories per gram. Do the math, they are all higher. :mad:

did u subtract fiber from total carbohydrates? because it is not absorbed by the body.
bodine1231 Fri, May 21st, 2004, 04:57 AM Watch out for that sugar in whole wheat bread! Dont just read the label,read the ingrediants,alot of them have brown sugar and regular sugar.
I get nature's own 100% sugar free whole wheat bread.
Gregg S Fri, May 21st, 2004, 05:00 AM I've noticed that most bread out there has quite a bit of sodium in it. Is there any HEALTHY bread out there with low sodium? I sure can't seem to find any.
Tempered Fri, May 21st, 2004, 09:21 AM I actually bought a bread machine and make my own bread now. It only takes about 10 minutes to measure and dump in all the ingredients.
One 2lb loaf lasts me all week long. I can also modify the recipe, like substituting honey for sugar or adding protein powder.
Currently, I am working on a healthy whole wheat pizza crust and a soft whole wheat pretzel recipe, which I plan on posting to the recipe section once they are tweaked.
