Today I have finally started to climb my way out of this hole i have been digging for the last 3 years. After falling for the women I love 3 years ago and the start of a new job at the same time i have let my health and weight slide. Slowly but surely i have lost the fitness and size i was happy with. When i now look at myself in the mirror i dont see the person i feel i am inside, the person who i want others to see. I feel the worst thing is i have had a gym membership this whole entire time. Hardly used.....wasted.
This has changed.
As of yesterday i have had decided thigns have to change. I was and in a way still am a avid world of warcraft player. As of yesterday i have stopped playing, at least until i get a set routine in place where been able to play will be a reward for having completed a good workout or such.
I have also started back at the gym, i was surprised to see the amount of strength i have lost. It saddens me to know how much i have let my fitness slide. But on a positive note i am motivated and keen to see changes.
I am going to use these forums as a place of refuge and motivation, i will update my post daily with what i have done and how things are going personally for me.
DAY 1
21st / 09 / 09
Gym workout - Chest, Legs
Anarobic - Exercycle
I was very surprised to see the amount of strength i had lost, especially in my bench press. I used to be able to pound out 3 - 5 sets of 60kg easily, however yesterday on my 3rd set i failed on my 8th rep. I guess this is to be expected, but it was still surprising.
Day 2
22nd / 09 / 09
Gym Workout - Shoulders, Arms
Anarobic - Exercycle
Felt good today, i was motivated to begin with even with only 6hours sleep and looking into a 14hour shift. But it felt good to get some exercise in before i started work. I am going to try and plan my day around, getting up and going to the gym 1st thing. that way i fel good for the rest of the day.
Day #3
To is my rest day, after two good sessions at the gym after a prolonged break my body is reeling in pain. Good pain. The pain that keeps me wanting to keep going back. Im doing a double shift at work today, and my main goal is to not over indulge in the set meals provided. Im going to use the salad bar to pre make a ham and salad sandwich to have around 3pm, because i dont think ill be hungry in an hour seen as i have only just got up. Night shift for me is a challenge, it is going to be hard to get into a routine that allows me to get enough sleep to allow my body to recover from my sessions at the gym. If anyone has had any exprience working nights and trying to fit in training i would like to know how you did it?? I know i should be able to stick to my plan of getting up straight away after 6-8hours and heading straight to the gym, but its going to be hard.
