I have heard a lot of people around here talking about how good flax seed oil is for you. I finally found some in the grocery store, and it was friggin $12.99 for an 8 ounce bottle of the stuff!! As a graduate student on a limited budget, I am not going to ever afford to pay that much money for oil. I have a hard time justifying buying olive oil, which is more expensive than vegetable oil, but I do buy it. Just how much better is flax from olive oil?

About 5 bucks a bottle better.... :D

IMO, if you're on a budget, it's not really necessary.

It's a good oil, much like that of olive oil.
Also has Omega 3 fatty acids...yadda....yadda....yadda....

IMO, you could take 50 supplements, and some other "must have" food supplement will come into fashion.

Want to get your omega 3 s ? Just have some fish once in a while.
(Not any cheaper though  )

I think you just need to shop around. The health food supermarket we go to carries it in 16-oz. bottles for $10.99. It lasts forever... I always get about four to six weeks if not more out of that bottle.

I'd be happy to send a few people (4 or 5 max) a 1 oz bottle of flax seed oil for free. I work at a health food grocery and the store get sent a TON of demo bottles, and they gave them to the employees and I took about 40 of them and I haven't really tried it yet, but I have an excess of these bottles I probably won't use any time really soon. Just e-mail me at: azusman@indiana.edu and we can work something out.
