I'm really bad about this, but when having my period I get TERRIBLE cravings. For crap. Chocolate especially. Am I the only one? Can I have chocolate? Dark chocolate maybe? Just a little? :dreamy:

Just a little? :dreamy:  definitely. not allowing urself to have any will make you binge like a mofo on it when u finally "break". a little dark chocolate.... especially during that time of the month..... can be a life saver. mentally. and the antioxidants are another benefit. i used to eat chocolate every single day. i'd crave it soooo bad. now the only time i ever crave it is when aunt flo's on her way to town. the big thing that killed the craving for me was cutting sugar out of my diet for a couple months. it's AMAZING how quickly one loses the cravings for sweets when u cut out the sugar. $tephanie Sun, September 6th, 2009, 10:15 AM Thanks for the info! I've had such strong cravings lately, it's crazy! When I go grocery shopping today I'll get some dark chocolate to get me through this week lol spatzcat_11 Mon, September 7th, 2009, 10:01 PM I'm really bad about this, but when having my period I get TERRIBLE cravings. For crap. Chocolate especially. Am I the only one? Can I have chocolate? Dark chocolate maybe? Just a little? :dreamy: this happens to me as well. i don't just crave crap, i crave food, all kinds of it. for about a week, it's the ultimate test of my will power, a real pain in the ass, -- haha, hoping not be a fat ass by the end of the cycle...LOL! i usually give in to one craving or another, and i usually don't think too much about it, and don't feel bad about it either. a little indulgence can keep you sane. it helps a lot to not have it in the house. you can't eat what's not there! tbuck Tue, September 15th, 2009, 09:57 AM My wife keeps a small bowl of those bite-size Hershey bars around just for that very reason.:tu: The only problem is this fat boy can't stay out of 'em!:D modmaven Tue, September 15th, 2009, 02:58 PM Really dark, pure chocolate (i.e. not Hershey's ;)) has been written up as a "super food" with powerful healthy properties. You could certainly factor in one dark square (not bar!) every day or so. tbuck Tue, September 15th, 2009, 03:34 PM And my wife knows that. She just thinks I don't...thus the reasoning behing the assortment of semi-sweet, milk chocolate, krunch and last but not least...mr. goodbar.:tu: As long as she's trying, it's ok by me. Besides...I get a better selection!:D modmaven Tue, September 15th, 2009, 06:19 PM As long as she's trying, it's ok by me. Besides...I get a better selection!:D excellent point! BJ Thu, September 17th, 2009, 04:31 PM I put a teaspoon of cocoa powder and two packets of splenda into a 1/2 cup of cottage cheese... makes it a lot like chocolate ice cream  It helped my chocolate ice cream cravings while cutting Hydrogen Sun, September 20th, 2009, 01:21 AM I'm a serious chocoholic, albeit one with a Y chromosome; but I rarely cheat (and when I do it's planned!) because cocoa powder and Splenda combined is a wonderful combination. I have had people ask me to make them one of my shakes. Yes, my protein shakes. :D |
