Im new to supplements, and I ordered a Designer Whey French Vanilla in 5lbs. God did I make a mistake.

I tried mixing 2 cups of it with 1cup water, and man, I couldnt sip on it without a gag reflex. :d_frown:

This morning after my workout i did it..... 1 cup cold water 2 scoops of the protein, I held my nose and DOWN'ed it, following through with a whole glass of sugar free cool aid, followed by 2 mints. :mad: Every time I burped I would smell the nasty aftertaste in my mouth.

Man, it was horrid. Halfway through the chugging I almost puked, the taste is TERRIBLE. Im afraid to try again and hurl.

Is there anyone out there with this whey? I need to find a recipe to down this stuff without it tasting so bad.

LoL yea i know whey + water dont mix = doesnt taste all that great :mad:
Try it with Milk!! i Bet it would taste so much better trust me hah! only try strawberry mixed with water thats the only whey i can stand with water ahah anything else its so hard to gulp down XD

I've tried Designer whey and MAN that stuff is nasty! Now I order Optimum Nutrition Double Chocolate and that stuff is GREAT! Tastes as good as a Nestly Quick!

Btw,try putting 2 scoops in a cup and adding HOT water just enough to cover the powder(very important to put barely enough water and not to much). Stir that with a spoon till its smooth then add 3 or 4 ice cubes then stir those till they disappear. TRUST ME its 10x as smooth and tastes waaaay better. I never measure the amount of water because the recommended is always to much and waters down the taste. Just put enough to stir the powder freely. When you add the ice cubes it will bring the water up a bit.

I made the same mistake of buying 2 lbs of Vanilla Designer Whey. I ended up throwing it away. Nasty indeed.

im gonna return it. I vomited 10 mins after drinking it because it gave me gas, and when i burped it brought up the "Best tasting whey ever!" with it.

So u guys are definately sure the ON 100% Chocolate whey is good? I LOVE chocolate milk, frosties from Wendies, and hot chocolate. Does it taste like something similar to any of these?

Oh yeah,it tastes really really good. I shouldnt say it tastes EXACTLY like chocolate milk (because protein has a certain taste to it) but its WAAAAAAAAAAY better than the one you tried. I tried that exact same kind and I always gagged,thank gawd I bought the little can so it wasnt to big a waste.

Yeah, I know what you mean. I bought a big tub of Designer Whey Vanilla, and discovered how foul it tasted. I was able to get it down by either adding a bunch of Splenda or mixing it with orange juice or pineapple juice.

However, the Designer Whey chocolate and strawberry flavors are really good (I like to mix them both together). Both the chocolate and the strawberry are very tasty, even when mixed with just water.

I do agree with the poster who said that the Optimum Nutrition protein is yummy. That's the best-tasting protein powder I've found so far, but it has a little more fat than the Designer Whey protein, so I'm sticking with DW chocolate and strawberry for now.

Are all the Optimum Nutrition flavours good?
I only have about 2 days of my current whey left & was going to get Optimum Nutrition Whey.
However, I aint keen on chocolate flavour thing.
I was goging to go for the vanilla or strawberry.
Anyone tried them before ?

Hmmmmmmm :confused: I just had a look at a supplements website & they do chocolate & mint flavour too. I think I could handle the chocolate with the mint in it too.

Any help would be appreciated guys :)
