My cut is nearing it's end...

I've gone from 280lbs a few years ago to an estimated 185-190lbs (6'2)

I've been trying to research to see if an individual who has been on below maintenance calorie's for an extended period of time will respond to an calorie surplus and gain muscle compared to someone who has started training or an medium beginner.

It's difficult for me to phrase the question, but hopefully the message has come across.

If I were to start bulking 6 september until new year (planning on starting at 10% BF) could I be realistic in thinking that I could gain 10-12lbs in this 15 week period while staying below 12% bf? I know water comes with the muscle and a certain amount of fat is inevitable.

Looking forward to idea's, opinions & experiences.. Perhaps someone has/ is in my position.

Thanks

:tucool:congratulations on losing 100 pounds. that's a huge accomplishment and i'm sure you'll have success on your bulk to get to your desired goals. one suggestion to consider, get a copy of darden's HIT. he speaks specifically to your situation, fresh off a cut looking to bulk muscle only. there's been alot of discussion on the forums on his book. check out ca$on's journal and the dialogue between him and RTE. slow cadence, heavy weight, 8 to 12 reps, few sets. just one of many ways to get there but i'm sure you'll find your way just as you did to your current weight.

Thanks for the kind words..

Yes I agree with you, i will find my way there... But as I have learnt from cutting.. It is beneficial to start "the right way"

Will have to check out the book (take it, that it's an e book) and will check ca$ons journal.

Thanks again
