Bodyweight 185 pounds, everything performed raw, without a belt

Pictures after two weeks on the Velocity Diet.
Any guesses on bodyfat percentage? I'd say 7%, but I could be wrong. Clarity isn't the best with this camera, so all the little veins and cuts don't show up quite as well as I would like them to.

Thanks Dan, training is going real well.

7% might be stretching it actually. I know once bodybuilders get down around 5% the striated glutes and hamstrings start to show. I'm kind of using that as a guideline.

Hardcore, man. :tucool:

I'd guess in the 7.5-8.5% range -- closer to the bottom.

You have some great speed on those squats. I think that's about as fast as I can go with 135. :p

Pete,

How are you finding the Velocity Diet. I just read about it on T Muscle. Seems like alot of suppliments and mind numbing shakes! I mean 11 units of Protein powder!

Nothing less than you deserve considering the work ethic you bring to the table

The V-Diet is killer, but you get into a zone where you are kinda on autopilot. It really does change your relationship with food in a very positive way. The results speak for themselves.

IMO - there is no faster way to lose fat and conserve muscle. The only downside is that you can only do 28 days at a shot.

As for supplements, I won't use Hot-Rox next time - maybe some green tea caps. Everything else was more or less 'food' - greens powder, protein, l-leucine, flax meal, fish oil caps..

Yeah, the Velocity Diet isn't fun, but it works. Echoing Billy's comments, I find myself enjoying food that I normally would find boring due to how strict this thing is. Stuff like chicken, which I would normally hate, I now look forward to eating. The downside is that I am hungry an awful lot, but that's just a part of strict cutting.

I haven't been following the diet 100%, so here are the changes I've made to tweak it to my own needs. Also note that whole food is a lot more satisfying (filling you up) than drinking shakes, so I took that into consideration.

1. I eat the same amount of Calories and macros that the diet calls for.
2. I eat salmon for my omega-3s instead of taking fish oil.
3. I replaced one shake with boiled chicken topped with natural salsa
4. I don't use the Biotest recommended supplements. Instead I use Xtend, Creatine, and ZMA.
5. I'm extending the diet to five weeks instead of four, right up to my powerlifting meet and the day of the weigh in.
6. I use my own weight training program training six days per week.

Like I said, I'm hungry as hell, but that's ok. After all, it is only one month of my life. After the powerlifting meet I'm going to have some epic cheat days though.

Wow. At only 17 years old. Nice.:tucool:

No cage? No squat bars in case you miss a rep?

I'm floored by your strength and work ethic, Pete. Your video was incredibly inspiring to me. I can't even fathom what you'll be capable of after a few more years of training. Keep it up! :tucool:

Yeah, no power rack yet. Still saving for that.

Really, so much of squatting big weight is mental. I never have any fear that I will fail on a squat, so it really isn't much of a problem. It also helps that awhile back I failed a 310 1RM attempt without a spotter and I just ended up dumping it off my back. Ever since then, I know what to do if I can't get up.

Thanks guys. The weight is coming off a lot slower now that I'm this lean. I'm having trouble breaking 185 pounds and the constant cardio sure is no fun. I can't wait to eat again in two and a half weeks.:)

Do you think the ZMA is making any kind of a difference?

The place where I usually buy it from, GNC....the stuff is sold out literally a day after they get a shipment in. So, for over a month, I couldn't find any to take....and I didn't want to order online.

I finally picked up 4 bottles the other day, and started taking it again.

It'll be interesting to see how I respond....especially as I near the end of my CP routine, and start back on the Starr 5x5 with squats.

It's tough to pinpoint what exactly is causing the strength gains while I'm cutting and eating at a severe caloric deficit. I think it's a combination of the Creatine, ZMA, and Xtend, but which one is helping the most is a question I can't answer. I know the first time I cycled creatine I saw huge strength gains, but I'm not sure if that's the big reason this time. I'd guess the Xtend is helping quite a bit, but I could be wrong.
