Well, that is not entirely shocking. It was a boxing match and Mercer was a former heavyweight boxing champ as late as 2002. Yeah, he's old, but so was George Foreman when he was heavyweight champ. He certainly has retained enough skills to where he can beat a guy with decent (but not elite) boxing skills. MMA guys will nearly always win against boxers in a match with few rules, but will usually lose if they restrict themselves to punching only....(although, Vitor Belfort might be the exception).

EDIT: Just read that it was changed back to an MMA rules bout earlier in the week. Mercer beats Sylvia but loses to Kimbo? WTF? :lol: I guess that is what happens when you try to box a boxer. This proves one thing for sure. Kimbo is smart and although Sylvia is a much better fighter than Kimbo, he is also much, much stupider. I also read that Sylvia showed up weighing 311 pounds. Ridiculous.
