. after weight lifting, many ppl hv remarked that my amrs look " big ". i insisted that girls generally hv a hard time to really bulk up and the only reason why my arms look big is because i hv gained muscle but still hv not lost the fat.
I've read that there are two types of weight lifting, one with more reps, lighter weight to prevent us from 'bulking up' and one with heavier weights, with less reps to build more strength and bulk up.is this actually true? i've always thought that it doesn't matter how heavy the weights are,or how many reps i do. So long as i don't too many and lose the fat, i will able to achieve those "lean, muscular arms"
IF i were to compare lifting weights to pilates/yoga based exercises (plank, push ups),it would not affect muscle size right?
i'm sorry if my questions sound stupid but i really need to be 100% sure.

Immediately after a lifting session your arms look big because you have pumped them full of blood and water and other nutrients. You haven't built muscle, but have actually torn them down. You are tearing fibers apart when weight training. The growth stage takes place when you leave the gym and eat and rest.

High reps and low reps all have their place in a training routine, however the main factor regarding whether or not you build muscle and lose fat, is going to rely on how your nutrition supports your training goals. (if muscle hypertrophy is your goal)
