Since you are trying to build mass, cardio may not be the most effective way to spend your training time. But hey, what do I know...I'm just another FNG!:tucool: NCNBilly Wed, April 29th, 2009, 12:11 PM I am just going to start bulking and i am wondering if i should be doing hitt cardio while bulking? if i were it would be 4.5 hours within my strength training. At your age and probably metabolism, I probably wouldn't. Considering your stats, I'd eat 100-200 cals above maintenance, lift hard and heavy, and gets lots of sleep - and do active things (walk, sports, whatever gets you off the couch and from behind the computer). gray Wed, April 29th, 2009, 10:16 PM At your age and probably metabolism, I probably wouldn't. Considering your stats, I'd eat 100-200 cals above maintenance, lift hard and heavy, and gets lots of sleep - and do active things (walk, sports, whatever gets you off the couch and from behind the computer). 100-200 calories above maintenance is a difficult value to obtain. A fluctuation of 100 calories can happen pretty easily by any minor amount of exercise, not to mention the amount of error in counting calories and assessing your basal metabolic rate in the first place. 500 excess calories would be more realistic and is a figure I see often. |
