View Full Version : Should I start with cutting? (merged thread) matheath Thu, April 23rd, 2009, 05:51 PM hmm Nowhereman Thu, April 23rd, 2009, 10:23 PM Culk. Aragon goes in depth with this in his November and January issue of his Research Review. It's not free but I thought it was a pretty good article(s). http://alanaragon.com/ You can kind of get the gist of it if you search on the bodybuilding.com forum. But it's kind of like recomposition, where you eat a maintenance and see slow but steady results. You can also take a look at Layne cooks pre-contest dieting article http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/layne36.htm just for some ideas. He also bulks in cylcles of 4-6 weeks followed by a 2-3 week cut. Going 500 calories above maintenance and 500 below on cut weeks. Jedi Fri, April 24th, 2009, 02:39 AM picture on right is present, right? so, yes, you should start by cutting! You need to go to the beginners section and look at the stickies about fat loss, especially the one by Gravityhomer. It will help you work out approximately how many calories you burn in a day and therefore how many cals you need per day to lose steady weight. It will give you a good idea on how much of carbs/protein and fats you need per day, what types of good foods contain this and how to create a diet plan. Then its up to you to create a plan with the foods you like :) using something like fitday.com to track your food. choose a starting weightlifting plan like starting strength and start lifting heavy 3 times a week. when you have created a rough diet plan, post it here and we can help more:) matheath Fri, April 24th, 2009, 12:35 PM thx guys. I will look at those. I'm already studying gravityhomer. thx |
