Hi John

In your about page it says you were doing HIIT 7x per week whilst lifting 3x.

If you were to start over again, as the out of shape person back in 2003, would you have chosen to go with the same plan? Or would you have started with weights only, or cardio only?

Thanks

HIIT cardio 7 days per week is excessive, yes, but that kind of crazy intensity and ridiculous excess was exactly what I needed back then. So, in that light, no--I would not change what I did. Right or wrong, I did what I felt I had to do to get my life and health back on track.

Would I do HIIT 7 days per week now? No.

I wasn't judging you or anything... I was just hoping to find out what you would do if you were to restart your transformation with the knowledge you know now.

i.e:
3 days HIIT, 3 days weights
Just HIIT
Just weights
LISS?
Switch up?

Thanks for your time man.

You know, Everyone is different, and there is no such thing as the universal thruth.
The most important thing is to start and keep going,

If you are a beginner with the goal of losing fat,
i can guarantee you that any of those routines you mentioned above, combined with healthy eating, will get you good results.

I personally did many of those on my inital fat loss phase because my current approach to fitness is "trying new stuff" every other week ...cause that makes me happy and keeps me going..

John's 2003-2009 approach was "all or nothing", and that made him happy, now he will trying another approach as you can see on todays main post.

so, define a nice approach and stick with it :tu:
