Hi All

I have fallen out of a good routine for far to long, have been doing a fair bit of research on keto diets and intend to start one quite shortly, I will be running a log on the appropriate forum here with detailed food and progress logs.

I have trawled through the first few pages and not found any threads on this topic, so I am asking if anyone here has undertaken this type of dieting before, i'm not interested in Atkins type diets ust keto experiences.

Cheers guys.

The bodybuilding.com forum has a fair amount of info on keto diets if anyone is interested in doing any research.

What are your goals? And what are your stats?

Hi Mastover,

Stats are - 6ft 2, 90kgs, about 20% bf (educated guess), goal is fat loss, with muscle retention.

Have a few meal plans somewhere, I have heard some side effects, such as smelly breath and a metalic taste in the mouth so I am trying to pull out any experiences from the JSF crew.

instead of doing an out and out keto diet, I would recommend the Anabolic Diet (low carb for 5/6 days per week and a carb up). Many have had great success on this losing fat and retaining muscle. Do a search here for it and there is a huge thread on Tnation about it too.

Going to run on a CKT which has a carb up period of 24 - 30 hours, starting Friday after the last work out until Saturday midnight.

Planning to not carb up for the first two weeks and truly place my body into ketosis.

ok well that is very similar to the anabolic diet and there is plenty of info about that here at JSF.;)
