Hello!

After my weekly armworkout I often experience massive amounts of pain in my forearm. I've been reading about it in various forums across the internet but I just want to ask somebody myself since im quite worried.

It doesn't hurt when im working out(!). Everything is fine. The day after I experience some regular muscle soreness but the day after that.. scheisse. It hurts pretty bad. I have problems stretching my arms straight out and I look like a T-rex when im walking. The pain lasts for about 4-5 days. But one time it lasted for about a week and I had to be home from school beacuse of the pain.

Since that I've been training with lighter weights and I never give 100% while working out my arms. I've checked that I do all the exercises properly but it still hurts pretty bad after 2 days.
It doesent matter which exercises I do, noone is more "pain relieving" than the other. The pain is located as seen on the picture. But it's quite sore in the other muscles as well. It doesn't feel right...

I must add that I haven't been training consistently for the past 3 months due to sickness.

Should I be worried or is this a passing phase?

Thanks for answers!
/Rick

EDIT:

Can it be DOMS maybe?...

Do you think it might be a tendon hurting?

If it has been a long while since you have done a serious arm workout, then suddenly "go nuts" you can denfinately over stress them. I only say this because in the past because i experienced that type of pain. It then hurts most to straighten your arms. If that's what your feeling, it passes with time. Start off a little slower, workout a few weeks before going really intense.

It might be the tendon that's been overstressed. I've considered this but then again the pain is in the whole muscle.. Well, I don't think there is any real danger to this. Just needs to rest and then -as you said- take it easy. It's just really really reheheheeeealy annoying

If the pain doesn't go away, then take some time off and let it heal. DOMS goes away after a few days ... tendonitis doesn't. You may have strained the muscle, and you may just need to let it heal....

Well, 6 days have passed and the pain is gone. Well, I didn't even notice any pain yesterday when I did my back work out. I still feel a little bit sore when I "over straighten" my arm but why whould I do that on a regular basis. I think i just strained the muscle but im going to approach my bicep training with great caution, train with light weights and go from there. Im also going to give my arms the rest of this week to recover.

Thanks for you answer!

Yeah, take it easy for sure. Awhile back, I strained my left bicep, and, almost a year later to the day, I strained my right bicep. The most recent time, I kept training through it, and it was taking forever to heal. Finally, I bit the bullet and skipped a week of pulling exercises, and my bicep healed nicely. So...if it continues to hurt, you may end up having to do the same thing.

Good luck!
