So who lives in California and knows what this is? haha. Well, sometimes I get really busy with school and work (especially during finals and midterms, or huge projects) and I don't get the time to pack my healthy protein enhanced lunch, so I have to resort to eating out. Well, I'm your typical broke college student (that's why I always pack lunch -_-), and as many of you guys know it's hard to get a healthy, cheap meal, quick (under four bucks. haha yea I know I'm getto), protein enhanced meal for that little money. If you go to McDonalds, jack in the box, burger king, yeah it's all cheap but if you check out the nutrition facts.. man it's so bad for you haha.
Anyway, to my point, el pollo loco always looked clean to me and I'd prefer that over fast foods, but deeng it's actually really good haha. Dunno if you guys will agree, but check out the menu if you want. A 69 cent el carbon taco has 150 cal, 11 g protein and 5 g fat. MUCH better than your typical hamburger if you ever checked out the nutrtion facts, ugh it's killer. BRC is like a buck twenty cents with 390 cal 10 fat and 14 protein; all from beans, rice, and cheese. pollo bowl is 4 grams of fat, 540 cal, and 37 protein (never got this though.. too expensive.. like 4 bucks hahaha).
Well, the reason I posted this is that since i changed my diet, eating clean, and working out it's hard to eat something healthy and cheap outside (especially when you're at school for 12+ hours -_-). I used to go to jack in the box, since it's cheap, but it's so bad for you. I'd always contemplate on what to eat (especially since my school was like an hour away from my house), but after looking at the nutrition facts of el pollo loco, I can get a two dollar meal with 540 cal, 25g protein, and 15 fat (really not bad for 2 bucks haha and not to mention it tastes really good and you don't feel like sh!t like after eating two hamburgers and fries). Yeah, another reason I posted this is that since I started eating cleaner I really do have to spend more money when I'm out, but at home yeah it's about the same; but with this you could eat decently clean and save money :D.
http://www.elpolloloco.com/nutritional/nutritionguide.pdf you guys can take a look if you'd like.
If anyone disagrees I'd like to hear.. or knows any better deals.. I'd LOVE to hear hahahah. I looked around though.. so don't think there are any :(.
o yeah, 5 dollar subway subs.. too expensive for me sorry haha. And McDonalds snack wraps are ok.. but wayyy too much sugar and their ingredients are so not fresh. Also, jack in the box's pita snacks are too expensive for me haha and too much sugar. So yeah.. I don't think ANYONE is going to understand wth I've been talking about this whole thread. hahahahah.
