The bars are amazing. The mint is just like girlscout thin mints. Id say how impressed I am but Ive come to expect the best from ALN and they unfailingly deliver.
If you havent ordered yourself some novus bars...you should.
Im an ALN customer for life.

TheThirdMohican Wed, April 1st, 2009, 08:09 PM I just tried the Mint Chocolate Novus bar this morning at work and I have to say it is very, very good tasting. The taste is excellent, very rich and full of flavor. I did not need water to get it down as I would with a Pure Protein bar, and it was not as sickly sweet as a Clif Builders bar. The only negative I would say is that the texture of the 'filling' is a little rough but I was overall very impressed.
Macros: A (as good as any bar out there, homemade probably only better)
Taste: A (barely below a candy bar)
Texture: B
Overall: A

I got my Novus bars last week, I got both flavors, cookie Dough for me and Mint for my wife, she hated the mint and i only marginaly liked the Dough, but since I knew she wouldnt eat the 7 other mint bars, i tried one Saturday, Let me first tell you i hate mint! I havent had a candy cane for christmas in 20 years. The Mint was delicius, i mean really really good. So the next day i tried the dough agian, and this time it was great. Chris, thansk for some really good tasty bars, that deliver a perfect blend or protien and vitamins, The low carb is great, that way each of us on our varius stages of cutting or bulking can supliment the approparate amount of clean carbs to make a great meal on he run. Hats off to at Large !:tucool:

Thank you!
Jaer Tue, April 14th, 2009, 01:41 PM I, likewise, bought the cookie dough for myself and mint for my wife. She agreed the mint does taste like thin mints, the texture gets to her, and the density of it. It took her a few hours to get through it! But she did enjoy it. It's just not something she could handle eating regularly. I often have a difficult time getting her to get enough protein - she is a carboholic! - and so far AtLarge has been the greatest help on that front since theirs is the only protein mix she likes and will use consistently (she loves the strawberry). So thanks for having quality protein suppliments to help round out her protein intake!
I liked both the cookie dough and the mint, and while I think I prefer the mint, it's nice to have a little variety. They are a great way to get some added protein with a low carb impact (which I really appreciate) and make it easy to have a filling "meal" on hand when it might be difficult to have one.
