View Full Version : Red meat modestly increases cancer risk stallion16 Tue, March 24th, 2009, 01:29 PM http://health.msn.com/nutrition/articlepage.aspx?cp-documentid=100235097>1=31036 HevyMetal Tue, March 24th, 2009, 03:03 PM I was just on a site yesterday that claimed ALL protein causes cancer. No surprise...because it was a vegan site. They claimed that CASEIN protein was the number one protein causing cancer....and that in a lab , when casein protein was introduced to rats , the cancer could be turned on at will. They also mentioned red meat...as a matter of fact they mentioned ALL meats. No surprise....it was a vegan site....and funnily enough they then said that eating eggs was o.k.....although that is a protein... So what do we need to know?......well, first off is the cancer rate among bodybuilders, powerlifters and anyone else who has increased protein intake higher than the rest of the population? Personally I'm still of the school that believes today's soaring(?) cancer rates are caused more by artificial trans-fats,and eating the wrong types of vegetable oils as well as too many processed foods and too much sugar. |
