View Full Version : Maintenance calories: not sure what to trust

I'm 6'2." 171lbs. I do a little over 20 mins of HIIT everyday. Then I lift for 45-1 hr everyday. I'm not really sure how much body fat I have, but I'd say I'm in decent shape. Most of the estimates I have gotten from the equations are around 2900 to low 3000s. This seems like a lot though... Can somebody give me some insight? Thanks!

Don't know what equations you are using, but this one uses the Harris Benedict formula (which is the main one to be used if you don't know your bodyfat%).

Depending on your goals (e.g. fat loss, bulk, cut, maintenance, etc.) you would adjust your caloric intake accordingly up or down.
