Hi Everyone.

I'm planning to try to make my own rice bread, using rice flour bought at the health store. Main reason being that I want to stay away from wheat for a while.

Do you have any comments on rice bread/flour? I chose this because I thought if I eat rice so often, it shouldn't be too bad to eat rice bread as well. To make the fiber content a little more decent, I'll add a few other ingredients like seeds and other stuff.

What do you think of this idea? I want to use bread for the snack meals, probably with some natural peanut butter or in a chicken sandwich.

I'd appreciate your input.

Thanks!

What's your reason for avoiding wheat? Do you think maybe you have an intolerance to gluten?

Rice bread can be okay, but I guess you'd have to experiment with it.

I think I've had rice bread before, and I remember it being a little more crumbly. It might be more difficult to hold the seeds than wheat would be, but I don't know for sure either way. If that's the case, you can just sprinkle them on top of your sandwich.

Guava, not sure if I have an intolerance to gluten (I'm getting some tests this week to check thinks), but I do know that when I use wheat on a daily basis, I get more bloated than usual, and that's not cool. For the last 3-4 for weeks I've been trying to avoid wheat as much as I can (in bread and pasta, for instance) and I've noticed the difference. I do miss toasts, tho, that's why I was considering rice flour.

I'll be making my first batch tomorrow and see what happens.
