I'm sure this topic is in here somewhere. Can someone lead me to good core exercises to strengthen the muscles that support the spine? Thanks.

One of my previous trainers had me do my dumbbell exercises while sitting on a Swiss ball. (dumbbell press, curls, etc.)

Also, doing variations of the plank are really good. Here is a link:

Believe it or not, you can do a lot of core strengthening by doing your lifts while standing whenever possible. Biceps curl? Stand up! Seated row? Try bent-over rows instead! Shoulder press? Stand up!

It probably won't feel like you're doing much good just standing whenever you can, but that's because you're mainly focusing on your target muscles. You're not really feeling your core working when doing standing shoulder presses, but believe me, it is. And that small advantage will add up over time.
