That's not much to go on...

If you are 6'5" and 132 lbs. and lost 22 lbs over 8 months and are now 110 lbs., then you have gone completely backwards and most likely lost whatever lean mass you have. If you are 5'9" and 250 lbs. and lost 22 lbs. while getting stronger in the gym, then I'd say you have made great progress.

Give us some more precise info so the members here can help you. You also can leave out the graphic self deprecation. IMO

hey thanxs 4 answering back that fast!!

Well here is what happened...
at first i wass around 202lbs and went down to 192lbs in a 8 month period, so i wanted to know if i was doing ok, or if it was too little fat loss and i needed to work harder...

in other words... people shoud loose or does loose way more than i did over the same period?? (meaning i didnt work hard enough)

How tall are you?

Did you gain strength at the same time?

If you mainly just lost fat and didn't gain much strength, you could have gone considerably faster -- the rule of thumb is that you can lose 1% of your body weight, per week, safely.

im around 5,7 inch tall, and i think i did get some strength, but not much.

should i have done a harder work to get down to 155lbs?

Well, you *should* be fine. Technically you can lose up to 2lbs a week and not lose muscle. Which is what matters. You want to keep muscle while losing fat. Whether that's really what happened is anyones guess.

If you lost 22lbs and your wieghts you lift progressed. Then i'd say this was very succesful.

First off - congrats on the weight loss. 22 lbs in 8 months is a slow rate of weight loss. Not sure from your post if it is mostly fat or a balance of fat and muscle (hoping for the former). Did you measure body fat?

I lost about 60 lbs during the same time frame last year - about 55 lbs of it was fat, based on BF% measurements. However, everyone (including my wife) thought I was insanely compulsive and robotic in my focus on fat loss. None would complain about the end result, but all say they could not do what I did. In the end it's all about what you want and how badly you want it.

During this time did you focus on lifting to retain muscle mass? And to reiterate Mastover's question - did you gain strength over this time frame - increased weights on exercises such as squats or bench, or more reps on bodyweight exercises such as dips?

Don't keep us in dark any longer, you talk of working harder. We don't know what work you have been doing? What was your exercise plan? Did it include weights?

Give us the details. I looked back and you ask the question in posts - Am I doing well?. You never tell us what you are doing. I will say no you aren't doing well. You started last july, over 8 months ago. or 32 weeks ago. You could and should have done more.

Thank you again 4 all your replies....

here you go, training schedule as requested:

mon: chest (bench press, flies, bent arm pullover) + biceps (curls) all of them using dumbells only (3x15 each) // ( 5kg atm, increasing 1 kg each new week) + abs (3x15).

tues: cardio only, 1 hr (ridding my mountain bike around, going uphills etc) + lots water.

wed: back (one arm dumbell row,stiff-legged deadlift, (3x15 each)) + abs (3x15).

thurs: cardio only, 1 hr (ridding my mountain bike around, going uphills etc)

frid: legs (dumbell rear lunge, squats), calves (dumbell seated one-leg calf raises) (3x15 each) + abs

sat/sun: off training/off cardio.

same day i do back, i also do shoulders, with press, and lateral and or front raises all with dumbells, 3x15 each.

notice the exercises are all using dumbells only (3x15 each) // ( 5kg atm, increasing 1 kg each new week)

so YES, i think i got stronger, and i got a better condition overall, but i may not have done enough exercise, cause i think in 8 months i should have lost 60lbs or even more, as others achieve here.

i used to aim for around 2200 calories (40P/30C/30F).

all of this was my plan over those 8 months, and i say i usedto, because at the moment, for many other reasons im not dieting and or doing exercise as i should, and went back to my initial weight, but did not get the same fat % as i had at the beggining.

So all i wanted to know is if doing that exercise was not enough, because i´m planning on getting back to exercise and dieting as soon as i am able to.

I might say im a bit out of focus, not that into it as to when i started.
in the mean time, im eating clean, still 5 times/day good carbs, low fat, no sugars on juice, coke or things like that..

more comments will be so wellcomed....

and one last request... any good workout to loose fat, easy enough to be acomplished at home? since i only have a pair of dumbels with its discs and thats all...

After that period, using 5kg dumbells seems a little low. You're saying you're doing a bench press with 10kg total?!

Don't increase the weight based on time, base it on when you're ready. How do you know when you're ready? If you can do 15 reps with a weight, it's time to bump it up a notch. Try a higher weight, and if you absolutely can't lift it for your target number of reps, it's too high, and you can revert a step for now. Try again next workout.

From what I've read, it's also probably better to go for a lower number of reps. Try going for 8-10, and pick a weight where the last 3 reps are very tough.

Also, you mention dieting, and not dieting now. A diet is the sum total of food and drink you consume. To lose weight effectively and durably, don't "go on a diet", but change your diet to a healthy one that you can continue indefinitely, even when you're feeling tip-top. Get rid of fat with the exercising.

Oh, and congrats on losing the 22 pounds! Progress is good!
