Hi, just like to say hello to everyone as a new member :)

My first problem - a Groin strain.

I have a recent problem with a groin strain, it starts write at hip pointer and works through to my inner thigh. I have had this before and was out for almost 3-4months. I have pain and inflammation at both points. I have tried R.I.C.E and nothing seems to work, can anyone help me?? IT WOULD BE MUCH APPRECIATED, ANY ADVICE GIVEN.

I play competitive football and have rested for almost 2 months and a week now and nothing seems to be progressing.

The doctor give me inflammtion tablets, they didnt work either.

I don't know what to do but the obvious for now, is rest.

Sounds like piriformis; maybe obturator internis.

Sorry I don't know what you can do other than rest. There might be some hip exercises you could do for rehab, but I don't know what those would be.

If I had to guess, I would suggest single stiff legged deadlifts on inverted bosu, starting light. But I'm just guessing. The reason I guess that exercise is because it hits every muscle from erector spinae on down to the toes, so it would be sure to hit whatever you got in there, so you would expect it to work the problem muscle as well as anything else that might oppose it. But it's not a very repeatable stress so you would have to take it slow and easy.

EDIT: There would probably be some sort of resistance band work. You might be able to figure it out for yourself. The hip is not really like the shoulder, but it's a little like the shoulder. If you keep injuring the same muscle you might need to strengthen other muscles in the joint as well. Maybe read some protocols that people use for rehab after hip surgery?

Ugh I feel for you groin pulls are the worst! I pulled mine on my left side before and couldn't do any twisting type motions for about 6 months. After I let myself recover a few months later I went golfing and upon my first practice swing hurt myself all over again
