I have Cosgrove's "new rules of lifting for men" (and women) books. They're not bad and just states the obvious.
Anyone know anything about his "Afterburn" I & II ebooks? Are they any good? Do they work?
Thanks a lot.

I'm also working on Afterburn II.
I am going to put in a chapter on fat metabolism.
To be honest it will be a short summary - nothing in depth.
However your chapter in UD2.0 has influenced me the most, to the point where I'd feel uncomfortable not saying that directly in the text.
basically the chapter will be primarily a summary of your chapter plus a few others (your chapter is 2200 words, the summary is about 600- 750).
In other words I want to credit you directly in that chapter.
So how do you prefer it was referenced - direct to you and your site, or direct to the book?"

heya ...ive read through afterburn 1.....IMO its nothing new if you have a sound principle and have done some reading around the boards .....its good for someone who cant be bothered to spend the time researching because it lays everything out for you..ie exercises /diet etc etc ...but there is nothing revoultionary in there ..its same basic foundations ie resistance training with compounds / interval cardio training /and good sound diet ( aiming towards lower carbs the leaner you get)....u can get all that info just reading through the stickies:tu:.....and to be honest if you got 99 dollars to spend on ebooks i would rather pay the extra and use someone like Mastover who will be a lot more beneficial IMO than reading through some books.
hope that helps

I lost alot of respect for AC the last half year or so. He won't be getting anymore of my money.
Afterburn is most likely undulating periodization with some brutal HIIT AKA Metabolic conditioning type workouts thrown in and a diet plan that creates a calorie deficit, no magic.

no magic.
So true ....but sadly thats how they market a lot of these books as some kind of secret magic formula. but in reality it all boils down to
Diet (creating a small deficit)>>resistance training>>>cardio (hiit liis type)>>> and most importantly being CONSISTANT.
