Hey guys,

Im currently cutting, and I woke up today feeling weak and sore, as if I was getting sick. I thought at first it was just the DOMS from yesterday's workout, but it started spreading throughout my body. UGH:(

Anyways, what should I do to eliminate this as soon as possible. Should I still follow my macros, and take a break from lifting/cardio, or should I take the traditional approach - drink orange juice, take Nyquil, etc. I'd like to avoid weight loss/weight gain (from not eating enough food, or from drinking a gallon of OJ with tons of sugar and no exercise).

Any suggestions to fight this off asap would be greatly appreciated!

One remedey might be to "sweat it out". It is an old wives tale that if you make yourself really hot, you will sweat out the infection. In fact, there is a lot of efficacy to this approach. You won't actually sweat the infection out, but if it is a bacterial pathogen causing you to be sick you will help kill it. Bacteria actually thrive in environments slightly cooler than human body temperature (98.6 F). If you heat yourself up, you are in fact giving yourself an artificial fever which is a nonspecific immune response to infection. Try it out, and make sure you drink plenty of fluids though.

You don't know what it is! A conservative guess there is 200,000 common diseases. Do you have fever, cough, sharp pain or dull pain. We aren't doctors, take a day off and rest if it is still there see a doctor or a close relative that been around the world. None of us can help over web.

It just feels like the common cold to me. Im going to see how I feel tomorrow. I wasnt planning on exercising - rather, I was wondering how important it is to stay on my diet these next few days. Drinking plenty of fluids and resting will help obviously

Rest. Vit. C. Zinc. hot tea with lemon and honey. REST.

Hope you kick this quick! I caught a cold TWICE this year and I know it's no fun and aggravating how it cuts into your workout and nutrition...but if you do the above hopefully it will run its course quickly. :tucool:

I usually do not workout when I am getting/am sick...for me at least I have found it further stresses the body and pulls resources from your cold recovery...
