I have recently become interested in strength based programs however I do still enjoy the higher volume that hypertrophy routines employ. Thus I have designed the following program to incorporate a bit of both worlds. My primary goal is strength gain but in order to keep me interested in the gym I have added some hypertrophy sets to the mix.
You comments are welcome as always...
Day 1 (Back and Biceps)
Deadlifts (5 X 5)
Bent Over BB Rows (5 X 5)
Pull ups (3 X F)
BB Bicep Curls (4 X 10-12)
DB Pull Overs (4 X 10-12)
Underhand Lat Pulldowns (4 X 10-12)
Day 2 (Chest and Triceps)
BB Bench Press (5 X 5)
Pushups (3 X F)
Cable Cross Overs (4 X 10-12)
Tricep Rope Pullovers (4 X 10-12)
Tricep Press Downs (4 X 10-12)
Day 3 (Legs and Shoulders)
Squats (5 X 5)
Stiff Leg Deadlifts (5 X 5)
Leg Press (4 X 10-12)
BB Shoulder Press (5 X 5)
DB Side Raises (4 X 10-12)
Rear Delt Machine (4 X 10-12)
I also cycle every alternate day, road during the week and off road on the weekends.
I hope you find this workout interesting and perhaps useful. If you feel that it needs some tweaking or changes please comment - it is always appreciated.
