I'm having trouble getting in position for the skull crushers.
I've started doing these as part of a new routine.

With the palm out close grip on the ez bar, how do you lift it to your chest before laying back, especially in the last set when you have max weights.

Any vidoes out there showing the right way to get in position?

Here is a video (http://www.ehow.com/video_2360051_the-skull-crusher-barbell-arm.html) demonstrating skull crushers using a rack. Hope it helps.

Why do you need to lift it to your chest before lying back? Just lift it to your waist, lie back and then move it up your torso and press the bar into position? Alternatively get a spotter to hand you the weight once you're in position.

No spotter at 5am.
I'll try to do it the way you said.

Btw, how are you currently doing it? You will probably find it a lot easier to get the bar up to chest height while standing and then sit down on the bench afterwards. I do this a lot when doing seated military presses. Also, I'll sometimes kick the bar up into position with my knees while seated.
