I've seen people lifting in those really tight stretchy shirts. I've read that they are used to keep your blood up in and around your organs and upper body. Is this true? Can anybody vouch for the effectiveness of these? Thanks:)

Are you talking about something like this?

I don't really see how a shirt would restrict blood flow from the lower extremities.
Personally, I just lift in a cotton t-shirt. Nylon seems like it would be more slippery and not wick sweat very well. Then again, they are made for performance and I don't have any personal experience. :o

Some of the "Dri-Fit" and similar shirts wick moisture much better than cotton. Some of those are tight, but not all are. I suspect the tight ones are more for show than any functionality.
(That said, I wear cotton probably 75% of the time over my dri-fit stuff because it's more comfortable)
