CuTe PoIsOn Thu, January 29th, 2009, 08:50 AM As Im a sports Science student, Im always looking for better more specific articles and reports into studies of varouis areas such as Fitness, Nutrition, body adoptabilities things like this.
Some of the e-books and journals my uni offers are not that good, nor accessible, therefore an any sites would be a good thing for me. I know that "Rtestes" often links articles to the forum, so if your reading man, ide be gratful for a link or two doesnt matter about the topic area, I like to generally gather information about all areas.
why_not_fandy Fri, January 30th, 2009, 05:27 PM I'm not sure about Universities in other countries, but if you go to virtually any University/college in the USA you can utilize the InterLibrary Loan (ILLiad) program. Ask your librarian about it. For searches I recommend using PubMed. It's free to search, but often only has abstracts. That's ok, because if you can get the names of the primary authors, journal publication, title, volume, number, year of publication, and page numbers (all available on PubMed) you can request that article to be electronically delivered to you from another University through ILLiad. In addition, as of 2008 (I think) all health science journals are required by law to submit all publications to PubMed.

Amazing help man, just visited pubmed and you can even filter seaches to bring up full text articles which is great.
why_not_fandy Fri, January 30th, 2009, 11:29 PM No problem. I may have been mistaken about ALL health journals having to submit all publications to PubMed. I can't find any concrete evidence of that, but it does say on the homepage of PubMed that all studies funded by NIH must be submitted for publication in PubMed. I do know that all clinical drug trials are required to register with a committee before trials begin to prevent insignificant results from not being published. What year are you? If you have any questions about where to begin reading I would be glad to point you in the direction of some good articles.

"Effects of protein before and or after exercise"
"Benefits of Exercise"
"Diet & exercise to prevent type 2 diabetes"
Stuff like that, not too scientific, just enough detail for a non student to understand the conclusion.

I suggest you try to utilize ILLiad at your University if you have it. If you can't access ILLiad or something like it, let me know.
