That's probably pretty common knowledge already, but good to remind folks.
I think the important thing in that 3500k number is the way it works in WEIGHT GAIN.
Let's say you are eating pretty healthily, but you change nothing else but decide a couple of oreos after dinner would be no big deal. You do this every night for a year. Each oreo has about 55 calories in it, so let's round off to 100 calories a day extra. That's 700 calories a week, or 36400 calories a year.
Guess what, you just gained 10 pounds! From 2 freakin' oreos!
Okay, that's an extreme example, but taking in or not burning just 100 calories a day is nothing, so it's easy to get there.
On the other side, though, taking the stairs, parking farther away, eating a couple less bites, or dropping sugared soda and you've dropped out more than 100 calories, so you can drop 10 pounds in a year with little or no effort.
Just thought some might find that interesting.
