A few weeks ago after a long drive, the day after my right knee was hurting. It felt like i'd pulled it, possibly strained a tenden/ligament.
The pain went away after 3 days...
I went easy on weights but today in the gym squats weren't perfect, something just didn't feel right, and then whilst on my 3rd set of leg press my right knee almost gave way. It hurt, not very bad, just enough to stop, take a breather, and shake it off. I went through the next 10 reps no problem... but with my left leg ready just incase it was a real issue.
Any ideas what it could be or some good exercises/training I can do to strengthen the knee(s)?

I've had this kind of thing happen. Something about keeping your knee immobile for a long period of time makes it hurt. The car has goofed up my knees and my neck in the past. I wish there were a satisfying explanation.
I'd suggest deadlifts, but I see from your signature that you're already doing them. Bulgarian split squats and static lunges have worked wonders for me - it's rare that I have knee pain now, and when I do it goes away quickly.
Dynamic lunges might be even better, but I seem to lack the coordination to do them right.
I'm wondering: should you perhaps have stopped when your right knee almost gave way? Somtimes knee pain has an insidious way of catching up with you. It'll send you little warning signs that you might be ignoring. I've done it.
Maybe you need to switch off from leg presses for a bit and find something else to do - step-ups, maybe.
If you find something helpful for you let us all know about it - I'm always on the lookout for good knee-strengthening tips.

Thanks for your reply, i'll try some of the exercises you mentioned.
I wasn't sure if it was just a twitch in my knee or something serious... if I stopped working out every time something hurt a little i'd not get anywhere
I definitely agree though, more caution should be taken when injury could be on the horizon. I dropped my squats weight down a bit today in response.
