I have spent sooo much many on different gyms and have visit them like 3-4 times every time. A very expensive way to excersice!

Johns site has really inspired me, but this time I go out much slower than all the other failed attempts to be more healthy. So I have decided to NOT fool myself by buying membercards to a gym yet, instead I have said tomyself that I shall keep doing my body-weight-only exercise and low-fat diet for atleast 2 month before I start spending any more money.

However I realise that I do need to do some cardio training, so I would need a bike with a heart monitor and pulse control. But, with the arguments above, I wont buy one yet.

So, does anyone know where to rent such a bike in Sweden, preferrable in Stockholm.

I don't know about renting a bike - but I do know that there are a lot of them about on garage sales and "gula tidningen"...maybe not the most state of the art-ones...but they will get you through the first couple of months. This is a great way for you to give your motivation a test before committing to buying an expensive bike.

As far as getting a bike with built-in heartbeat monitor I say get yourself a regular heart beat monitor to start with. Not only are they relatively cheap (600 skr for the most basic model), but you can use it without having to lug your new bike around all the time;) Given a few months (or even weeks), you might want to progress into jogging and/or powerwalking.

Lycka till!

Try www.cykloteket.se or visit their store at Norra stationsgatan in Stockholm, they have a large selection of excercise bikes for rental.

I was there and got me a bike. Nice deal when it comes to rent agreements. Highly recommended.

Two of my work mates went ahead and rented bikes after I did it.
