View Full Version : Embarassing Guy Problem
SaintofGamblers Fri, December 26th, 2008, 05:01 AM Okay here goes...
Often when im doing cardio sessions, particularly long runs, i get this painful burning in my nipples. I suspect it might be from the chaffing of my sweaty shirt...but in any case it ends up burning for the whole day and i can see this tiny little cuts, i dont know if they are burst capalaries or something.
anyone else have this problem? any advice on how to avoid it?
thanks.
Terps01fan2006 Fri, December 26th, 2008, 03:52 PM Band-Aid's, Vasoline or Body Glide :tucool:
It is chaffing, being a long distance runner I always expierence the problem of chaffing and how to prevent it.
When doing me long run's I always always always lube up below the belt if ya know what I mean:tu:
Nothing worse then jumping into the shower with chaffed up man parts, and then having hot water hitting it while showering, talk about a burning sensation!!
Andrew Fri, December 26th, 2008, 05:18 PM This has happened to me occasionally on longer runs. If you wear synthetic running shirts instead of cotton t-shirts it seems to help.

Seltzer Sat, December 27th, 2008, 01:14 AM Believe me this is not uncommon for men.
Based on my experience running in a cotton shirt exacerbates the situation so I no longer do. Furthermore, I've found Body Glide to be an excellent product for both your issue and the one that Terps mentioned and use it on all of my long runs.
Honestly, I don't know if BG is the best out there, but it works for me so I'm staying with it until I hear/read something about a product that is cheaper and is more effective.
I'm pretty hairy so the tape solution gives me shudders the way that scene in The 40 Year Old Virgin did.

why_not_fandy Tue, December 30th, 2008, 05:41 PM bandaids always worked for me.
dave82 Tue, December 30th, 2008, 07:47 PM Deodorant. I read a post a while back when I was having this same problem. Other guy suggested smearing a little deodorant on those puppies. I've been using it ever since. :tucool:

lol well i guess i assumed the sportsbra would be made of non-chaffing material, but evidentally not!
cheeken Wed, January 14th, 2009, 02:47 PM I've had this problem on longer runs, too, and even on some *really* long bike rides. I'm also pretty hairy, so the best solution for me has been those little round bandaids.
The reason I use the little round ones (and this may be a little too much information, but whatever) is that they're just big enough to fit over my nipple and man-areolas, but they don't reach out into the rain forest of chest hair that is close by. Protects the nips without tearing out a clump of hair when I'm done.
Round bandaids: (Running) Man's best friend.
