Hello.

I haven't posted here in a long time, but need some quick advice and expertise of the members here.
Long story short. About 2 years ago, I was in the best shape of my life. Worked out 6 days a week cardio and weights. Got pregnant with my third child and packed on 60+ lbs.
I am fed up of being big again and have been trying to get back into the swing of things. My diet needs work, alot. And having 3 kids under 5 I struggle to find the time to work out. Going to a gym is not an option as we live pretty far out and my husband works early, and I work parttime evenings.
Anyway, I do have a treadmill at home and remember the love I had for HIIT training.
My question is
Is jumping back into HIIT after being away from it for so long a bad idea? Plus the fact I am on the heavier side. I LOVED HIIT. I got such a rush and I was done in much less time. I figure if I can do that then the possibilty of sticking to working out is good.
Sorry if this is all over the place. Kids eating lunch, no time, no time.

Thanks!!!

I wouldn't necessarily say jumping back into a HIIT style workout is a bad idea, but attempting to do so at the intensity and frequency you were doing 2 years ago would be. I try not to get hung up on defining exercise within neat little acronyms and definitions though.

I would hold off on running if you're currently 60 lbs overweight. There are other forms of just as effective exercise without the impact to your joints. If it's just fast incline walking, that's something different.

Thrusters (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=peLFTePbfDQ) for time should get your heart rate up just fine, and provide a quick workout.

In the end, if you're not losing weight, it's going to have more to do with your diet than anything.
