View Full Version : creatine, mixers, thermogenics, and stuff....
onamission Tue, October 14th, 2008, 02:14 PM I have a few questions about variouse supllements and there usage together. searcing the forums wasnt much use.
Firstly what is best too mix creatine monohydrate with? i know it has too go wih dextrose..but is any pariticular fruit juice best? i currently mix with apple or orange.
another thing id like too know is how much juice per creatine? i currently have 3g pre workout and 3g post, and mix each of these servings with 200ml juice..is this acceptable?
Lastly, i it ok too use fat burning pills and creatine at the same time? if they can work together id like too, i am on a cut..and have an unopened pack of maximuscle thermobol staring me in the face each time i open the cupbord..lol
thanks for any advice:tu:

Foley Wed, October 15th, 2008, 06:01 PM Who says creatine has to go with dextrose??? You can mix it with whatever you like, I used to take it with water. As for how much liquid you want it to mix I guess./...
As for fat burning pills, unless everything else is spot on, they won't do much...
onamission Wed, October 15th, 2008, 06:07 PM when i bought the stuff the guy at the nutri center (who happened too look prety damn built) said it has too be mixed with juice or something for proper absorbtion, otherwise it wouldent be absorbed properly and would just get peed out, it did kinda make scence because they was also selling premixed stuff at extra cost-i went for the monohydrate too save money. so really, i could just be mixing this with water???? that would be soooo much easyer.
i think my diet and excersize is pretty good, but i might just save the thermobol for a platue mabey.
thanks man:)

Sounds like some bullshit to me.
onamission Wed, October 15th, 2008, 06:25 PM awww crap, mabey it was just a load of rubbish in the hope id by the exspensive premixed stuff :S
i cant get my head round why they would sell premixed stuff tho, i guess it saves weighing the stuff..it was scoops like whey..but it was full of sugar like 25 grams per serving hmmm.
ah well it does on the side of the monohydrate tub say "mix with your fav beverage" gee..well dont i feel like a twat..lol:)
wow nice..this thread has saved me buy tons of needless juice cartons, thanks man:)
Dizmal Wed, October 15th, 2008, 11:05 PM Yeah, creatine doesn't need to be mixed with carbs, but it does help push it into the muscle. Dextrose, waxy maze, juice, etc, etc are good delivery systems for this.
As far as mixing with thermo's. There is no problem. Creatine is nice on a cut to help keep some strength an endurance while in a caloric defecit.
HevyMetal Thu, October 16th, 2008, 01:17 AM The current research-de-jour postulates that taking Creatine with a fast absorbing carb helps the Creatine into the muscle.
However.....from my own experience I find that Creatine might be a little on the acidic side....and...tends to upset the tum-tum, moreso noticeable if you have coffee right away with it (not recommended).
Lately I've been using Purple-K which is a buffered Creatine. The instructions go to great lengths to explain how buffered Creatine changes the PH favorably compared to normal powder Creatine.
No loading phase required with this product. Works nicely for me.
I would look for a juice that has a good alkaline component to it.
This might help nullify powdered Creatine's acidic tendency.
why_not_fandy Thu, October 16th, 2008, 04:27 AM any kind of simple CHO with Cr will work. From the literature I've readu about 100 g of simple CHO per 5 g CR is required to achieve an insulin-mediated stimulation of muscle CR transport. You will still absorb CR alone (without CHO), but you can maximize your muscle abosrption with CHO. Of course there is a limit to the amount of CR concentration in the muscle. You don't need to take 5 g CR every day. After you reach your peak CR concentration you can maintain that level with about 3 g Cr per day.
As for the fat burning pills, do they contain caffeine? Caffeine has been shown to negate the effects of Cr, so check incgredients. Beyond caffein, I am not sure what other substances reduce the effects of Cr.
