What are you striving to achieve in your personal fitness? Gain lean mass? Lose the gut? Better cardiovascular conditioning? Why is it that you're doing what you do for fitness?

My goals are simple: 8% body fat and an increase in my barbell benchpress, my squat (ass-to-grass), and my deadlift. I've set intermediary goals along the way (to make my ultimate goals seem more attainable), but those are my goals at the moment (and until I reach them).

I'm going to be going to boot camp for the Air Force in just under six months, so my short term goal is to get better conditioned for that. Afterwards, I'd like to gain a little lean mass.

Famous,

My initial goal was to hit 180 and 8% by summer. That should be done, even if I need to take break to bust through my currunt plateau.

After that, I'd like to clean bulk up to 200 and maintain 9 % or so. I live in MI, so a little bodyfat does me some good. I've been freezing my ### off! :)

My goals are a little less dead ahead than most of yours...I want to feel comfortable with myself. Simple and easy. I mean I guess 8-10% bf and maybe in 160's...lean mass not to bulky...But the most important thing to me is to just feel comfortable.

Feeling good about yourself is the most importart thing... Thats what I'm trying to achieve by dieting and working out, and so far it's working.

Current Phase End Goal: 8 - 10% BF

Mid-Point Goal: drop 20 lbs (I get to buy some new ski pants! By then they'll be hanging off my ass.) of body weight

Jan. Monthly Goal: drop 10 lbs, make this a permanent life style change, and get my diet dialed in.

First goal is to drop 10 kilos (22 lbs) by march 9 (thats a kilo a week for ten weeks, I am currently at 99 kilos - a 4.5 kilo drop in just over 22 days!). That'll be my introduction to weightloss. After that I'll be looking at loosing another 10 kilos by summer.

This means that by the end of may or beginning of june I will be about 83 kilos (183-184 lbs) to my 180 cm (5' 11") frame.

From there on the future is somewhat uncertain. One thing is for sure though - I don't plan on putting the extras back on! A good diet is a must!

I will probably start gaining mass - perhaps not as lean mass as John managed to put on, but anyway gaining muscle mass.

Oh yeah - I started off at 103,5 kilos (228 lbs) on jan. 30th.

Currently I'm about 150 lbs. 14% bf.

My goals are to get down to about 6-8% bf. Then I want to start a slow, clean bulk and slowly gain up to around the 160 mark.

I started at 119 lbs. around 12% bf. I did a massive bulk and went up to 163, but unfortunately I got lazy towards the end and my diet wasn't too clean. I got up to about 17% bf. I ended up gaining about 30 lbs. of muscle and 15 lbs. of fat during that bulk.

Right now I'm in the process of cutting down from that bulk. Just been frustrated lately because I seem to be losing muscle along with the fat.

That's definetly a good goal! I just like to set something finite that I can work towards and track my progress, which serves as motivation for me. I can look at where I've started and where I currently am and be proud of what I've done and be assured that I'll make it where I want to go (so to speak).

Good luck with your goal(s). That goes for everyone else, too. :)

Holy Schnikies, That is a load of muscle to put on. Great job! All that extra mass will help to burn off the fat.

My list of goals is pretty comprehensive, including achieving a certain weight, adding a certain amount of lean mass, and also some physical challenges.

Check out my goals here - http://www.gettingripped.com/goals.php
Im trying to keep it fun with varying levels of difficulty.

I'm trying to get my 6 pack fully visible. I've managed to put on about 15-20 pounds of lean mass over the past year, and am now cutting down from 10.4 % BF (as of last Monday). I'm hoping that 9% will be enough to give me the definition I need, but if I have to get to 8% then I guess I'll go there.

I will be in the Caribbean in late April and am hoping to have time for one more bulk of about 5 pounds,with marginal fat gains, before that time.

That should put me somewhere in the neighborhood of 175 pounds at 5'10" w/ 8-9% BF.

I want to go from my old flabby weight of 305lbs to a nice firm 200lbs. Currently sitting at 289lbs, so I am well on my way.

My goals (I'm currently at 209lb)

198 lb (90kg)
187 lb (85kg)
176 lb (80kg)
165 lb (75kg)
And continuing until I have a low BF% (8-9, maybe?)

Of course, this stuff doesn't end then... I'll probably be working on my muscles after that... just have to get rid of all this BF first :D I'm putting the plan into motion in february... have to purchase some equipment and stuff before then :)

I´m at 97kg atm with 20% fat and my goal is 85-87 kg with 8%. I started at 127 kg 3 months ago. So I feel that I´m close now compared to the beginning. I will start to eat a bit more now and use a 40/40/20 diet. The first 3 months I used a protein diet with a little bit of fat but 0% carbohydrates. It´s a rather fast way to do it but I suspect the 40/40/20 will work better from now on. Since I would like to at least maintain my muscles or if possible add a kg or two.

In fact I´m 38 years old and I´m 181 cm. I was training bodybuilding in the 80:es and early 90:es. So I´m not really a newbie. But I looked very terrible at 127 kg. But at 97/20% I think I look ok with clothes on at least. :D But not yet with them off. :( But I will change that.

Regards!

Lose bodyfat (no "gut" as I don't have it, but want to see abs as I never have), and gain lean mass)

I'm 6'2" and ~172lbs and about 15% bodyfat (possibly mid 14's as that was last measured 2 months ago).

Anyway, I've always been "lanky" and finally want to get to the 'built' level.

So far it's going well, losing fat and gaining muscle.

Currently 180lbs and 10% bodyfat is the goal, after that I'd love to hit 190 still at around 10%. Don't want to get any bigger than that.

In no particular order:

1. Lose the manboobs
2. 190->180 lbs
3. Lose the gut
4. 180->170 lbs
5. 170->~160 lbs
6. Get a tan for summer so when I take my shirt off it's not like there's 2 suns

My goal is to drop from 160 to 140 (weight) and to go from 18.5% to around 14/15% (body fat percentage). I'd love to lose the gut and the butt (the two things that are real big on me) and tone my thighs (I inherited large ones from my father). After I reach my weight goal, I'd like to start doing some lifting and turn most of what I have into muscle and lean mass - but that's a ways away.

My current goal is to get to 12% body fat by May 1st. I just had my first body fat test at the gym since Nov. 25th. then I was at 20.1%, and today I am 17.6%.

I am very pleased to be making progress tward my goal and now that I am watching what I am eating better my new goal should be very attainable.

I don't know what my final goal will be now,but I know for sure that feeling comfortable with how I look will be a big part of it. My brother just moved to Key West and I want to visit him , but not now I feel to fat to be comfortable at the beach now, and I couldn't escape going to the beach with him.

My main goals are health/activity ones: I want boredom and my kids' endurance to be my limit of doing things with them, not my lame shape. I want to do a 45-minute per day cardio workout for maximum life length (see kids, above). I want to get my BMI down to no more than 20 to reduce my risk of heart attack. I want to lower my blood pressure. I want to be able to engage in basically any reasonable physical activity and have the only limitation be how much I want to do it or how much my poor, damaged knees can take. I want to set a good example of a healthy lifestyle for my children. If I can achieve those goals, my appearance is secondary. But:

My secondary goals, once those are achieved are: I want to look in the mirror while wearing a bathing suit and not feel disgusted. I'd like to get to whatever body fat my wife would find most attractive, which I suspect is 8-10 percent, allowing muscle definition, but without my bulking up, too much.

TQ
