Hi folks, long time lurker who finally got a gym membership. I'm a 5'7" 28 year old male who weighs approximately 245-248 lbs with approximately 28-30% BF. I'm looking to increase my strength and muscle mass eventually, but right now I'm focusing on losing bodyfat and keeping the muscle mass I've got.

Any suggestions diet wise? I'm trying to really figure out what would be more beneficial for me right now, say a CKD diet or going the 40-40-20 route. Thanks for any help guys!

i'd start out on a 40/40/20, learning healthy habits you can pass on to others (dont take that as ckd bashing!!)
but the best thing you can do is learn learn learn, read through a few other the other "help me" thread, there is tons of info in them, i posted a ton of links and stuff in one of the threads

when i started, i just had the link to bodybuilding.com, and i found john's site through that, and all the other great stickies in the fat loss section

the most important thing is continued learning, write a diet, add it up in fitday(www.fitday.com) post it, have people comment on it! and learn from their comments to improve your diet
soon enough you will get the hang of what is good for you, why you should eat this and that at cirtain times and so on :)
keep building that diet! stay dedicated, and learn learn learn!

Things finally began working for me when I started eating low Glycemic Index carbohydrates. I am a huge believer in eating only unprocessed foods. I won't touch white flour, sugar, white rice, etc.
