I am building a Home Gym in my basement.
To start, I purchased some equipment and 4 of these:
http://www.omnifitness.com/products/product_detail.cfm?ID=962
I purchased the 4' x 6' x 3/8". The 4 of them are positioned to make an 8' x 12' rectangle. They are sitting on just the cement floor.
I know they make interlockocking mats. But I bought these and there is no turning back now.
They sit side by side pretty seamlessly on most of the connecting sides. Except where two of them meet, there is a noticable gap about 1/4" thick. No matter how much I try to reposition the mats, I can't close up the gap.
I was wondering if anyone else ever experienced this, or if anyone had a trick or suggestion for filling the gap (i.e. maybe black rubber caulk or something).
I dont plan on ever moving the mats. In fact, I plan on getting more of them, covering the entire surface area of the floor, and putting drywall up around the room, basically planting them where they are. (This is why I am so anal about the way it looks). Basically, I want my basement to look as much like a real gym as possible.
Thanks.
