woeisemma May 9th, 2004, 01:16 AM I'm starting a new phase in my weightloss journey and I really need to figure out what I'm going to do. I'm really lost right now. I've surpassed my weight loss goal and saw 129 last week on the scale. This week is my second attempt at maintaining or even gaining back the pound I lost last week. I've eaten a lot of junk this week and I don't like it. I've eaten pretty clean with one cheat day a week for almost 5 months and trying to eat 2000-2500 cals a day with some ice cream and junk food is very hard on me...I'm not sure I can do it right now. So, tomorrow I am going back to eating 1300-1600 cals a day of good clean food with one cheat day a week. If I lose weight, who cares. Mentally I can't deal with eating 2500 cals right now.
guava May 9th, 2004, 03:37 AM Emma,
Sounds like your boyfriend is a little insecure with your progress. On the one hand, it's great to have a beautiful girlfriend, but, on the other hand, it's uncomfortable to know that every other guy in the world would kill to date her.
I think my husband is going through something similar. I've given more power to myself by ensuring that I look my personal best, and he's starting to think that maybe I don't need him as much anymore.
He said he's not comfortable with me posting photos, so I'm not sure I will anymore. On the other hand, it feels great to hear congrats from all the members here, and I miss the extra compliments on my progress.
Anyway, I think it's a mistake to force yourself to eat more than 1600 calories, if that's not what your body wants to do. Bingeing on ice cream, or even chocolate milk, will just lead to new bad habits, and you'll end up back where you were. Your body is pretty smart and it will balance itself out where it wants to be. You can tell when you're eating right by whether or not you're hungry (you should be, slightly, before each meal, and shouldn't be after each meal) and by gauging your your energy level and mood.
HateTheSun May 9th, 2004, 04:50 AM Relax Woe, It's a guy thing.
We follow the rationale that 10 is twice 5 so ~10 must be better. Life is very binary for us. Women on the other have a 4 dimensional mind and can formulate social equations that are unsolvable, for instance "how do I look?" As men, we can’t answer that without stirring the 4th (emotional) dimension. If your confused, it worked. We are now on the same plane. In order for men and women to communicate in written text, a filter must be used.
In other words, Cisco was just saying that he can't believe how good you look. And you heard (insert woman's thoughts here - I can't even begin to imagine). The important thing is that your B/F is getting fit with you. In one of your previous threads, I recall you were very glad he decided to make the change. Enjoy this together and you both will look so gosh darn hot that neither of you will notice the rest of us fat kids. lol
Congrats Cisco for making the decision to live clean.
Guava - We all need encouragement. That's why most of us are here, your February pics are amazing. Your in the best shape of your life - Celebrate it!
Jono May 9th, 2004, 10:39 AM if your trying to add calories.. if you want to maintain a lean look, it's best to start bumping post workout intake..
your post workout shake can use some more carbs and protein. your post workout meal can use some more carbs and protein as well, solid form of course.. adding 1 cup of rice is like 45 carbs right there.. 200+ calories
you need to start off slowly, slowly increasing your calories over a few weeks
slush_puppy May 11th, 2004, 11:32 PM A Snickers energy bar and a p'zone... you're killing me here! ENVY!
Toolish May 16th, 2004, 11:15 PM Hope the puking has stopped and you are feeling better.
As way too hard to eat right when feeling sick :(
Ken In Canada May 21st, 2004, 09:49 AM [QUOTE=woeisemma]Today was the first work out in a week. It was pretty boring. I am trying something different with my weight lifting, I'm taking about 15 seconds for each rep and I do 30 reps of each muscle at low weights - 10,20, and 30. [QUOTE]
Negative resistance is a GREAT way to build up strength, IMHO. It's the method of strength training I'll be using in August when I start my bulking phase. (hope I don't lose my abs) I just do MUCH lower reps. :D
Good luck, Emma! Cool name BTW - same as my daughter :tu:

efk May 23rd, 2004, 10:04 AM I know what you mean about the scale... If I don't like the number on it - it can ruin my day (well the first few hours at least). Its just very hard to accept that things flucuate slightly....
In any event, you'd have to consume 7125 calories - AND convert them all to fat/muscle for the scale to jump up "for real". You've made amazing progress so far, this is just water retention.
Revlis May 23rd, 2004, 10:11 AM I find it best to weigh myself once a week under the same conditions at my lightest I'm in a day. I get consistent readings when maintaining.
You look great Emma!
guava May 24th, 2004, 09:52 AM My goal is to lose at least 1 inch off my thighs in 3 months. Is that realisitic? I hope so.
No.
My goal in January was to lose about an inch off each thigh. So far, all I've managed to do is lose 5 pounds, a few inches off the chest, a couple of inches off the hips, and a little more than an inch off the waist. My thighs, I'm still waiting. NO shrinkage there yet at all. Problem is, I don't really want a smaller waist, and I don't need a smaller chest. I also don't need to be under 120 pounds at more than 5 feet 4 inches tall.
You can't choose where the fat comes off. Wish you could.
shyapril May 24th, 2004, 10:06 AM You are sooooo right there Guava!! I'm loosing weight everywhere except on my hips as well. What I am doing now and see how I react to that is a massage to activate my circulation on legs and hips. Has anyone ever used any kind of body lotion to prevent and activate circulation?
guava May 25th, 2004, 05:55 AM You don't necessarily need smaller thighs. I've somewhat given up on that quest and and trying to tighten the general area now.
I must say in the last couple of days, I've noticed a huge improvement. :D I've been doing
exercises like these about twice a week for about a monthBuild a Better Butt (http://www.ediets.com/news/article.cfm?cmi=328325&cid=3&code=24567) (squats, lunges, and kick ups). Actually, I don't like squats, so I do a dumbbell bench step-up instead.
These exercises are especially nice because you don't need a gym. It's worth a try.
Ken In Canada May 25th, 2004, 09:39 AM Ken, how old is your daughter? Emma has been the #1 and #2 name for girls for about 5 years now.
My arms are sore from my new weight routine. They haven't felt sore since the first few weeks of training about 3 months ago. I will do my lower body routine on Monday and hopefully my legs will be sore too.
I think I had 6 cans of diet A&W today..I have a headache from it. New pix might be up on my website come Tuesday. I really like how my stomach looked May 5th so that is why I'm reluctant to update it :)
I found out that 'Emma' was a popular name just after she was born. She'll be 4 in October. She's the only one I've heard of in a long, long time.
And lay off the diet pop!
Hehe...
Ken
guava June 1st, 2004, 10:46 AM I suppose you must have been cutting your calories too low. It just took a while for the fat loss to show up. You could have lost all that weight with more calories. You could have been eating at Denny's and Ihop all along. :eat: However, I don't think you're in much danger of your weight creeping down to 120 if you keep eating chicken quesadillas and Haagen Das.
Oh, and there's nothing wrong with your thighs. They look great.
neckowi June 5th, 2004, 12:06 PM Today is my free day and I plan to eat like crazy. I have no clue what to have for breakfast though. Donuts don't sound good, candy and ice cream make me sick in the morning..wish I had someone to go with me to Denny's or Ihop.
Yeah, if you ever want to start your free day right, I say go for IHOP. Big Country Omelette, bacon, hash browns... either that or biscuits from Hardees/Carl's Jr.

woeisemma June 12th, 2004, 12:15 AM I think months of drinking 3-5 cans of diet A&W a day has started to take its toll on my stomach. I used to have acid reflux a few years ago..but since I've changed my eating habits it's really subsided..except I feel the familiar twing in my stomach some days now. Diet A&W is the only thing I can think of that could make my stomach feel this way..anyone have any other ideas?

It could be stress, especially with your current situation with your x and looking for a new apt. and stuff. My stomach feels awful sometimes when I am stressed/mad or whatever.
BTW the you look really good in the new pic you posted above. It seems like you are getting in better shape everyday. :)

Destiny June 12th, 2004, 03:32 PM Thanks Destiny! When will you be posting your transformation pix?
Hopefully, I will be posting pics in abut eight weeks. I have lost 25 lbs since January and currently weigh 132.5, but I am only 5'4 so I still want to lose a little more before I post. I feel too self concious to post right now, even though I have made progress. I am in that "mid transformation" where I still look puffier than I want to and I think about 10-15 more pounds should make the difference. I checkout your website all the time because it keeps me so motivated. I am so shy to post pics and journals for everyone to see, but I am so glad that people like you are kind enough to inspire others by posting your pics/journals! It seems like the last 10 lbs you lost made an amazing difference! I hope the same thing happens to me! :tu:
woeisemma June 13th, 2004, 12:23 AM Thanks Destiny! I'm glad someone reads my journal. Yeah, going from 140 to 130 really made a difference..I look much less puffy. Are you sure you are 26% body fat? jk0 June 13th, 2004, 06:43 PM Here are pics I took last night of me in the size 7/8 jeans I am wearing in my before pix on my website. It's weird how I can fit into a size 4 but these 7/8 jeans still fit me pretty well. They have some extra room when I sit down which is good cuz I can tuck my rolls in :tu:

woeisemma June 13th, 2004, 10:57 PM Well, I am sorry to say things didn't work out as planned with me going to meet KarateTricker, but something very good came out of all of this. Since I already have my ticket to New York, my x and I have decided to fly to New York together next week and have this trip mark the beginning our new journey together. We are planning a very romantic vacation and are in high hopes that we can work things out. We have agreed to begin couples counseling when we return from New York. We are looking at 2-3 bedroom apartments w/ 2 baths on Saturday and my stress is almost 100% gone now. Everything happens for a reason and I'm very pleased with how everything has worked out.
Other exciting news is I've decided to start modeling again! My confidence is soaring and since I need the extra cash..why not? I have one photo shoot lined up for the beginning of July and I will for sure post some pix!
jk0 June 13th, 2004, 10:58 PM I am really glad to hear things are working out for you! I hope things go well for you and your x!!!
woeisemma June 14th, 2004, 11:21 PM I was in an excellent mood today so I decided to start my free day early by having a free night plus a free day tomorrow. Hell, my stress is gone so I needed to celebrate. If I gain a pound or two, who cares. I'll lose it in the next few weeks, and it's not like I have anyone to impress. :tu:
I'm getting tired with my eating routine. I'm not sure what I want to do with my body. I'd really love to eat more strict and build some muscle, but I'm not sure. I think I'm going to try eating very strict for a few days and see how it turns out. When I say very strict..I mean no processed foods like trail mix, baked lays, skinny cow ice cream, granola bars, soups, bread..all the things I have grown to love.
woeisemma June 15th, 2004, 08:28 PM Today was my free day, but I did 30 min cardio on the elliptical, 35 min jogging, and 25 min upper body. I felt GREAT jogging! I have missed it so much. I will try to jog for at least 30 min 2-3 times a week on top of my regular cardio. I wonder how many miles I jogged today. I jogged in a cemetary so I have no clue. Anybody else like Jay Z's new song "99 Problems"? I think it's great :)

woeisemma June 16th, 2004, 03:54 AM Finally got the guts to post before/after pix of my thighs/butt/saddlebags on my webpage. that happens a lot with photos and such being hosted on geocities.
woeisemma, if you need a place to toss your photos and hotlink to them, you can always upload them to http://gallery.gettingripped.com! ;-)
woeisemma June 16th, 2004, 12:58 PM My entire body is a little sore from jogging yesterday. If the weather permits, I will go jogging again today after my 45 min cardio session.
Back to healthy eating today after 1.5 days of eating pure junk on purpose.
guava June 16th, 2004, 03:40 PM I'm not trying to hit on you or anything, but you have a very cute butt. :o
In fact, your butt is so cute, I'm sure no one but you sees the problem you see in your thighs. Millions of women around the world would kill to have a rear view like that.
guava June 16th, 2004, 03:47 PM I have gained about 15-20 lbs in strength..is that a lot or no?
Whoops! Got sidetracked by those butt pics. I was going to comment on this.
How do you mean gained 15 to 20 pounds of stength?
Do you mean you used to 5 pound dumbbells and now you curl 22 pound dumbbells? Or you used to curl an empty barbell and now you curl one with 15 pounds on it? Or are you not even talking about bicep curls?
In 4 months, I went from 4.4 pound dumbbells to 16.5 pound dumbbells, but I don't know if you're looking to compare yourself with others, or what kind of answer you wanted.
woeisemma June 16th, 2004, 06:01 PM Your answer helped. I have increased about 20 lbs on all my exercises in 4 months I suppose...it could be more.Whoops! Got sidetracked by those butt pics. I was going to comment on this.

woeisemma June 20th, 2004, 08:16 PM Modeling. It's amazing that I finally have the confidence to do bikini modeling, but a part of me is worried I won't look good enough. The only way I will find out is after my first shoot. A photograher from my area told me about a few local bikini contests..but I'm not so sure I have the confidence to do those. I have stretch marks on my thighs and I'd be too worried they would be visible. I also think I'd be too embarassed to be on a stage with tons of drunk guys hollering at me. I feel uncomfortable when I walk past guys at the mall and they look at me. For the bikini contest, there are two winners each week who win $200 each. They are featured in a calendar. I saw the winners so far on the website, and they all have large fake boobs. Though mine are pretty big, I don't think they could compare with the high profile 34DDDs. My interest in modeling, bikini contests, and any other way I can make over $100 in a day came about because I found out I can't get loans for my last year of college. I need about $6000 and I have nothing. Piled on top of the fact my hours at work got cut in half and I live with my x, my stress level is back up there.

Don't fret about your stretch marks. Every girl has them and airbrushing can do amazing things! Also, remember that not everyone is crazy about fake boobs. Maybe a girl with a body as amazing as yours and real boobs that are a decent size, would really impress the judges. I know I would choose a girl with real ones over fake ones any day if I were judging a swimsuit competition. If your boobs and stretch marks are really the only things holding you back, tell you insecurities to shut up and just go for it. You look a hell of a lot better than most girls and I think you would have a very good chance at winning!
As an alternative way to pay for your last year of college, you may want to consider looking for full time employment at a place that offers tuition reimbursement. A lot of places will start paying for your college courses after you have been employed with them for as little as three months. Even if you initially have to take a position you are not crazy about, hopefully you can get a position in their HR dept after you finish school. That is how I pay for school and it works out pretty good. I can't take quite as many classes as I wish I could each year, but I can't complain since I haven't paid a dime! :)
In any case good luck! I am sure everything will work out in time!

woeisemma June 21st, 2004, 06:15 PM Thinking about modeling and bikini contests really makes me want to work harder! Today my work out consisted of:
36 min upper body
45 min cardio
I wanted to jog today but it's been raining nonstop.
Today is my free day.
I weighed in at 131, but I am one day early for my free day, plus Saturday I had a whole lotta pizza and pizza rolls at 11pm.

Ok, if my skin clears up I'll be driving 1 hour to view a bikini contest by myself on Friday. If I decide to enter the contest at a later date, I have to be judged first in club wear. I think I've found an outfit that would work great for that part of the contest.

woeisemma June 22nd, 2004, 01:58 AM Met the photographer through a modeling site..it's a TFP so no pay since I'm building my portfolio, and they aren't being published. I will post them once they are edited and sent to me. tell us more about how you met the photographer, the pay offered, where the pics will be published, etc! this sounds like an interesting turn of events!
corbint June 22nd, 2004, 02:01 AM cool... ive heard a horror story or two about TFP shoots, so just make sure you are careful, and if possible, take someone with you!
woeisemma June 22nd, 2004, 02:34 AM Thanks but I've been on quite a few TFPs and they werent horror stories at all..though one photographer was a real bleep. :) I'm sooo excited :) I actually got three offers for a shoot Friday night. One was paid which was for screen savers for cell phones, but the TFP is with a very awesome photographer who I've been dying to work with. :tucool: cool... ive heard a horror story or two about TFP shoots, so just make sure you are careful, and if possible, take someone with you!

Buchy June 22nd, 2004, 08:17 AM I wouldn't obsess too much about the stretch marks Emma, you look great and I don't think anyone would notice - certainly not us guys anyway.
If it is still an issue for you (and I know how you feel because I have them) there is a good thread in the women's health forum, if you haven't seen it yet, with suggestions on treating them.
Destiny June 22nd, 2004, 08:23 PM Ok, I'm not doing the bikini contest on Friday. I have an awesome photo shoot lined up after work on Friday..woohoo!

Marcman June 23rd, 2004, 01:57 AM you'd better post pics after you get it and try it on!! good luck with the photoshoot! so exciting!
New bathing suit I ordered. Lucky me my fav model is wearing it :)
woeisemma June 23rd, 2004, 02:00 AM I'll be taking the pix of me in the black bathing suit off my site cuz my x said he never liked me posing in it since he bought it for me (tells me this months after having my pix up there) and I'll be posting new pix in the white bathing suit. I might post some in this journal too. you'd better post pics after you get it and try it on!! good luck with the photoshoot! so exciting!
woeisemma June 23rd, 2004, 02:03 AM I just ordered Walden Farms Calorie Free Ranch and Balsamic Vinergrette or however you spell it salad dressing. I want to switch my typical sandwich and snacks lunch to a huge chicken salad and hopefully..crap I should have ordered Caesar instead of Ranch. DARRRRNNN ITT.
Marcman June 23rd, 2004, 04:20 AM well now at least you can see if calorie free actually tastes good, if it has any taste at all.
if it does, i'll order the caesar and letcha know how it is.
let me know how you like the ones you got though. i've definitely been interested to try this stuff out.
when are you supposed to get the new bathing suit?
woeisemma June 23rd, 2004, 10:20 PM It was shipped today :D well now at least you can see if calorie free actually tastes good, if it has any taste at all.

Bluestreak June 24th, 2004, 02:36 PM R.I.P my dear Pizza Hut Pzone with extra Cheese.
You were my favorite cheat meal and I will miss you.
*Pizza Hut no longer makes Pzones :d_frown:
As I found out last weekend when I tried to order one for cheat day. Rat bastards. Bring back the P-Zone! Oh, and the tummy looks fine. If only I had that kind of definition... it's coming.
woeisemma June 25th, 2004, 04:47 PM Like last week, I had pizza on a non-cheat day. I had about 1500 cals of pizza last night. Only three slices, but it was Rocky Rococos. I also had a few hundred cals in breadsticks. I did 1 hour of intense cardio before the pizza, and my total cals for the day were around 2800, with my ratios 30f,50c,20p, so not so bad. I wonder if I should change my free day to two-three cheat meals a week. Does anybody else do that instead of one huge cheat day?
corbint June 25th, 2004, 05:01 PM 1 hour of truly intense cardio or just medium intensity? if it was HIIT-style, 1 hour would probably kill ya!
cheat meals are both for mental stability and thyroid maintenance. spreading them out over a few days will change the mental picture of cheat meals to make them more acceptable throughout the week, and would open the door to potential 3-4-5 cheat meals a week. if you just do a cheat day, its something to look forward to for 6 days.... keep a running log of the weird stuff you crave over the course of a week, and indulge on that one day. the thyroid sees the odd macronutrients come in, and adjusts accordingly.
woeisemma June 25th, 2004, 05:33 PM If you consider 85-95% MHR for 1 hour medium, then it was medium. I consider 60-75% medium. I dont do hiit because of my asthma. Yeah, I should make a log of what I crave during the week and eat everything on my free day. I think that will help. 1 hour of truly intense cardio or just medium intensity? if it was HIIT-style, 1 hour would probably kill ya!

woeisemma June 26th, 2004, 01:07 AM About 19 days till my photo shoot. OOOHH I'm excited. I had my last free meal tonight so I will try my hardest to go 19 days w/out cheating. My goal is to work out as much as possible, which will be easy considering my hours were drastically cut at work.
Marcman June 27th, 2004, 04:54 PM you cannot possibly go 19 days without cheating!! i think you'l go insane and have a cheat day where you would eat enough for a week! and that's not what we want. I think you should have at least 1 or 2 cheat days in there, just to keep your thyroid in balance if nothing else. We dont want you going insane right before your photo shoot! :D
And a pzone looks exactly like a calzone - is that what it is? i wish i had one before they were gone. looks incredible. is it as big in real life as it looks in that picture?
Bread seems to be my weakness. I can go out to a restaurant and order a salad, but if there's bread sticks (damn you olive garden) it seems like i eat my weight in them. I did that for lunch and dinner on friday!! *barf*
and i wonder why i cant lose this fat pooch in my tummy :(

woeisemma June 27th, 2004, 05:57 PM You're right, I'm gonna have a cheat day tomorrow :D
A pzone was huge; I could hardly eat the whole thing w/out wanting to throw up. I'm gonna try a calzone tomorrow for dinner. :tu: you cannot possibly go 19 days without cheating!! i think you'l go insane and have a cheat day where you would eat enough for a week! and that's not what we want. Marcman June 27th, 2004, 06:05 PM Go for it! I have cheat meals like 5 times a week. Im really weak.
On a totally random note, I pigged out big time at dinner tomorrow, following a delicious bbq chicken and potato salad meal with cookies and a TON of angel food cake.
I woke up today, same weight as always, but my tummy looked a little slimmer than usual. So maybe there is something to cheat meals keeping you in check. I had pretty much eaten just salad and breadsticks the day before so maybe my body needed to be kick started or something. In any case, I am definitely happy.
And you could do that photoshoot now! You look phenomenal - you should be so happy with your progress. You shouldnt be apprehensive about the shoot coming up, you should be looking forward to dominating it and landing some really good photos and a modeling job!
Good Luck!! :gl:
woeisemma June 27th, 2004, 06:41 PM lol, if you want to win your competition you can't be having 5 cheat days a week!! I'm waiting for you to post your pix! And thanks for the compliments  Go for it! I have cheat meals like 5 times a week. Im really weak.

Just wanted to jump in and say that 19 days really isn't that long. I personally have gone as long as 13 weeks without cheating and I know Duckman said he went 10 months! You just have to learn to eat for "fuel" and not for taste. Of course, you do look great already and I imagine it won't hurt you to have 1 per week, but honestly, every time I seem to read your journal, it mentions that today is your free day. You've done great so far Em, just think of your goals and it will make it easier.
Jason
woeisemma June 27th, 2004, 08:16 PM Txitalian, I have one free day a week, though every other week or so it seems I give in and eat an extra free meal with my x. :) I went grocery shopping tonight for my last free day tomorrow. I'm going to allow myself one- two free dinners a week and possibly a candy bar in between instead of 1 free day. I'll do this for a few weeks and see how it works out. A factor in eliminating my free day is I can't afford it anymore. I spend about $20 once a week on my free days, and that is $80 a month I really could put towards something meaningful. My bathingsuit arrived and I think I'll take pix in it tomorrow, but it doesn't fit correctly so I am returning it. Just wanted to jump in and say that 19 days really isn't that long. Don't worry, they're all good. Have you heard the latest, they have some no cal sauces now, too.
I'm going to order the alfredo sauce. I'll let you know how it is.
No cal alfredo sauce.....how do they do that ??....no, ...wait...I don't want to know. :D
brian
woeisemma June 27th, 2004, 10:01 PM Yeah I saw the sauce, but then I'd have to eat tons of noodles and that wouldn't be good. The cheapest site I found was www.thebetterhealthstore.com I think the sauce was about $3 there.Don't worry, they're all good. Have you heard the latest, they have some no cal sauces now, too.

guava June 28th, 2004, 04:39 AM I read that Tyra Banks (or someone) goes on an Atkins diet two weeks before a fashion show (or some major event). But if bread and sugar are your weakness, that won't work so well.
woeisemma June 28th, 2004, 11:03 AM I used to do Atkins for a few days every week to help with my weightloss and I don't think there is any way I could go two weeks eating like that. I'm just gonna eat clean and up my exercise. :tucool: I read that Tyra Banks (or someone) goes on an Atkins diet two weeks before a fashion show (or some major event). neckowi June 28th, 2004, 06:53 PM I just wanted to express my sadness that the P'zone is gone... long live the P'zone! They stopped making them here in central VA a long time ago... guess they're gone completely. :d_frown:
Oh, and keep up the good progress, you're doing well as always. :tu:

Destiny June 28th, 2004, 11:10 PM Wow! Your legs are starting to show some real definition. The top of the swim suit looks good, but it looks like you need the bottom in a smaller size. Can you exchange the bottom, or do you have to get both pieces in the same size? Buying swim suits can be so frustrating!
Thanks for posting the pics. You look fantastic. Your progress always helps to motivate me!
woeisemma June 28th, 2004, 11:13 PM Thanks Destiny :) The bottom only comes in one size fits all, which I found to be very bizarre.Wow! Your legs are starting to show some real definition. LCJ June 28th, 2004, 11:16 PM Here are two pix of me in my ill-fitting swim suit. I am returning it because it fits horribly(baggy material where it shouldn't be baggy). I like how my legs are beginning to look muscular.
:spaz:  :tucool:
Marcman June 29th, 2004, 03:01 PM Ya, in my experience, one size definitely does NOT fit all. But I really like that bathing suit, and you look fantastic in it! Must feel so good to have accomplished so much and to be so inspiring for the rest of us.

If Carol Grow is your ultimate goal congratulations! it's incredible you are almost identical! :claphigh:
jk0 June 30th, 2004, 11:04 AM what can i say emma, you are beautiful
Revlis June 30th, 2004, 05:16 PM Gotta agree with everyone, you're looking super hot!
Marcman July 3rd, 2004, 04:45 PM swimming sounds awesome. Im going to the beach on Monday which should be fun. Weather has been awesome out here recently. Havent been excited about going to the beach in like 10 years :o
I think you have a pretty good chance of getting on the TV show. why not right? That'd be pretty exciting if you did! Keep us updated! :gl:
Thanks for the comments everyone.
America's Next Top Model is coming to town July 9 and I'm going to audition. That should be interesting!! I don't plan on getting on the show, but it will be something fun for me to do.
I have eaten more clean these last two days and I'm loving it. Walden Farms Ranch calorie free dressing doesn't taste that great, but the Balsamic tastes pretty good. My workout today was 30 min lower body, 30 min bike, 45 min jogging outside in the 85 degree heat. I should go swimming! Yes, I think I'm gonna go for the first time in years!
jRS July 3rd, 2004, 09:34 PM I probably won't make it to the audition b/c my car will most likely still be in the shop.
These last few days I have really wondered why I'm eating healthy and caring so much about my appearance. I'm really wondering why I don't eat fast food whenever I please. I would turn down Arby's because I needed to lose weight, but I don't need to lose any more weight. This whole maintaining period is weird. A part of me wants to be fat again because I know how to lose the weight and I know I can do it. I guess I just miss being able to eat anything I want when I want it. I think I will try something new for the month of July. I will still work out 4-5 hours a week, but if I want Arby's for dinner, I'll have Arby's for dinner. I'm not sure if I can stop tracking my food in fitday; that will be a goal for the winter. I guess I'm frustrated that I have a toned, thin body, but I don't have the cute clothes to show it off, and I don't go out to places where I could show it off. When's the last time I went out to a nice dinner? Probably 3 months ago. I can't afford a new cute, sexy wardrobe :d_frown: and probably won't be able to afford one until 6 months - 1 year from now. GRRR
I think you should try something new for July! But not what you suggested. Sounds like you are feeling down/ bored. (Dont ever let that be a reason to go back to where you were)
So to you, gorgeous girl, remember how much better you must feel now! And that a healthy body makes a healthy mind! Dont change that for anything!
Not helping, but buy new, sexy clothes when you can afford it!
Isnt there another way to get to the audition?
Take some time to get used to the maintainence phase!
Marcman July 6th, 2004, 04:06 AM I think it sounds good. Dont get down, Emma! Look at how far you've come! I've had a really rough eating week, or weeks too, with my dad's birthday, father's day and 2 bbqs on 4th of july, I dont know how I'm still standing.
But I dont think you should be getting in shape JUST to look good for everyone. That is definitely a big part, don't get me wrong, but dont you feel better eating healthier and knowing that you've come so far? I definitely still eat when im depressed or bored and its really taking its toll on my transformation. You're my inspiration! I'll take you out for a nice dinner when I visit UW Madison for Halloween this year :)
And I dont think having Arby's once in a while will do any harm. You could definitely do worse since I know Arby's has a bunch of deli type sandwiches that are pretty good.
chicanerous July 6th, 2004, 04:29 AM And I dont think having Arby's once in a while will do any harm. You could definitely do worse since I know Arby's has a bunch of deli type sandwiches that are pretty good.
You can always look all that up at www.nutritiondata.com and find the "best" item.
corbint July 6th, 2004, 01:21 PM emm, aside from using weight as a measurement, what about bodyfat % and also simple measurements of arms, thighs, hips, waist, neck, chest, etc? remember, weight isnt anything but a number, and can vary by time of day, and day of week, etc.
the extra weight could be water weight, related to the monthly period cycle that women have, or any number of other issues.
to gain 10 true pounds, you would have needed to eat 35,000 extra calories over the course of a month. looking at your food logs, i doubt you did that!
at the very least, this should be a wakeup call to get back on the clean eating bandwagon, and give it another go!
jRS July 6th, 2004, 02:08 PM Muscle?
ABguy July 6th, 2004, 02:14 PM Probably not in that short period of time.
Over time though, weight tends to increase as fat goes and muscle builds.
That's why how you look, not so much your weight, is the best indicator.
B
corbint July 6th, 2004, 02:53 PM no, even the best bodybuilders on the best of androgens and steroids dont pack on 8 lbs of muscle mass in a month, let alone 3 months!
seriously emm, dont beat yourself up over it, just use it to fuel your next month of workouts and dieting and it will be all good!
Marcman July 6th, 2004, 09:06 PM that's pretty interesting. eating frequent smaller meals is my biggest problem since i love eating. glad to know your workout went well today. im still psyching myself up for the dreaded leg day :(
Completed 1 hour of cardio and upper body workout. I feel good :) Weighed in at 135.0. I'd like to be 18% bf instead of 20.
I read this on Skwigg's site and I found it to be very interesting. I want to share it will you guys. It's her summary about an article in Her's magazine.
There was a study showing that the old energy equation - eat less and exercise more - is hooey and that timing is everything. They found that female gymnasts and runners who didn't eat or snack for 3 hours or longer had the highest body fat percentages - even if they weren't consuming more calories than they were burning. The longer the gap between meals, the higher the body fat, especially if they exercised during those non-eating periods. The study also showed that those who ate less than their energy needs - the old formula for weight loss - weren't losing weight. The runners in the study ate an average of 200-400 calories a day less than they were burning. At times during the day they would have up to a 1,100 calorie deficit going based on their intense training and infrequent meals. But they weren't losing weight like they should have. The meal-skippers and over-exercisers were the fattest athletes in the study.
They suspect it's because when your body is deprived of food for even a few hours, it starts clinging to any calorie it gets. Your whole metabolism shifts so that when you do finally eat you have a larger than normal insulin response, store more fat, and get hungry sooner. You also have impaired appetite regulation and a greater tendency to binge. The conclusion was that for maximum leanness, you should never be at a calorie deficit or surplus of more than 300 calories. So, if I were to burn 700 calories during one of my whacked out 90-minute personal training and sword fighting sessions, I would need to eat 400 calories beforehand to avoid slipping into a deficit of more than 300 calories. I was already eating before, between and immediately after brutal workouts. I do it because I'm hungry but I guess it helps keep my percentage of body fat down. I'm starting to really question Bill Phillips' empty stomach theory.

woeisemma July 8th, 2004, 01:03 AM It was from my sister's journal.Interesting stuff. Was this from an email or like an online dating thing? Guess I'll take you off of my buddy list :o
chicanerous July 8th, 2004, 03:47 AM Not that you asked for any advice or comments, but I'm going to give some.
Don't leave JS, but stop keeping a public journal - write about how you feel somewhere else, read it over, and then lock it away or burn it. Keeping a journal is still a good way to manage stress and sort out your feelings, but it's a burden. You can still lurk here, lend help to others, or just read responses. Or not, just go away if that's what you'd like to do. (We'll miss you, but we'll respect your choice.)
Don't chronicle your eating habits at all. Don't journal your eating habits. Change your fitday password to some long string of numbers you can't remember and never log in again.
Eat what you like and exercises how you like. At first you may go overboard and eat everything in sight; if you do so, after a while you'll naturally slow it down as you get reconcerned about your weight. Don't feel guilty, what is food for? It's for eating, and you should damn well eat what you want and as little or as much as you like.
Throw out your scale, don't take measurements, don't even take pictures. Or do. Take John Stone style pictures at some arbitrary interval. Does it look like you need to lose more weight? Increase your exercise and eat less. Do you look good? Eat whatever you like, you can always get rid of it again. Eat how you want to eat and evaluate youself based on you, not what some crazy scale, graph, or measurement is telling you.
If modeling is driving you crazy, stop. I see beautiful people all the time, but that doesn't mean they need to model. If you like the idea of dressing yourself up (or down), doing the hair and make-up, and getting your picture taken then model for yourself: work towards getting a nice camera, and learning about lighting and all the fancy camera stuff, and then do it yourself. Do what you desire to do.
Set up some goals that don't involve measuring girths, weights, and percents. Write down that you want to be able to run a mile in eight minutes, hold a handstand for five seconds, swim a mile, or be completely silent for a week. Do what strikes your fancy.
Shadow12 July 8th, 2004, 06:16 AM I agree with chicanerous. Happiness is key. Stop counting calories and eat junk food. Routine often kills the soul and when you are counting calories day in day out that is a routine. Take time off. Do something cool. Concentrate on another aspect of your persona. You say you are quiet and reserved, well see what it feels like to be loud and impulsive. Meet new people, you may meet someone and spend a good few hours talking to them and never see them again but those two hours were fun, they passed some of their beliefes and ideas onto you and you did the same for them. Hey you may even meet your new best friend. Also about JS there is no need to quit since you are not quiting really, you are just not as active as you once were, there is no quiting involved.
Whatever you do good luck!

Greater words have never been spoken by a teenager!
Good on ya, chicanerous. You're quite mature.

MGB July 8th, 2004, 03:55 PM Go chicanerous.
The only thought I would add:
Perhaps the most useful thing I've learned in my life is to confront times when I felt down about myself or life in general with overwhelming positive action. Instead of retreating, grit your teeth and engage more fully. Instead of letting negative emotions determine actions, strength your mind by reading every positive, constructive thing you possible can. I've never felt like doing this, but built a trigger so that I feel I MUST do it. It's made all the difference in my life. The only reasons problems exist are to make us stronger, and to teach us something.
Does this sound stupid? Probably. But it works, which isn't a bad criteria to use when judging whether or not do something.
Anyway, I hope you'll stick around. After you've learned how to overcome this challenge, you'll be a great inspriation and teacher for others that go through the same thing in the future.

TheLemonSong July 24th, 2004, 12:04 AM I've been wondering where Emma has been lately as well...come back to us Woe!! :D
woeisemma September 16th, 2004, 12:10 AM Hi :)
Woe is BACK!
I am back because:
I haven't really made any progress in the last few months - which is OK with me because I still am not sure what I want to do with my body.
I have maintained by body weight of 130 lbs, but I think my body fat % has gone up a few.
I had my free day yesterday, but today I ate the leftovers of my calzone and cinnamon buns. NOT GOOD.
I need to be held accountable, and I hope having a public journal will help me get back on track.
* Because of my school and work schedule, I can only work out 4 days a week - Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
I plan on doing 45 min - 1 hour of cardio three days a week. Two days a week I will lift weights for 45 min.
Goals: My ultimate goal is to have toned arms and to lose the saddlebags.
Tomorrow's food will look like:
9:30am
2 egg whites, 1 whole egg
1 serving plain oatmeal
11:30am
1 serving low fat cottage cheese
1/2 cup peaches
banana (b/c today might be their last day due to their ripeness plus I needed about 100 more cals)
12:30-1:45pm
CLASS
2pm
Chickenless Chicken Parmesan w/ Lean Cuisine Spaghetti
3:30pm
1 hour of cardio
5:30pm
3 oz No Name steak
1/4 cup brown rice
1 cup chopped broccoli
7:30pm
1 fat free 100 cal Skinny Cow Fudge Bar
*Oh, I'd like to mention that I no longer find it necessary to stuff myself till I go crosseyed and fall over on my free days.
Toolish September 16th, 2004, 12:43 AM Welcome back...i guess the next thing for you is to sort out some goals...hard to go anywhere without goals
Marcman September 20th, 2004, 01:23 AM yay welcome back! i wish i didnt feel the need to stuff myself until my stomach pops on NON FREE DAYS :(
good luck!!
woeisemma September 28th, 2004, 12:47 AM I was searching through some of my old websites and I found a picture of myself from December 2002. This pic was to be my start picture for the Body For Life challenge that I didn't complete. Unlike the majority of my old fat pictures, this one is a full body shot. I remember I was flexing my entire body SO hard in this pic, yet you can't see any muscles. The other pic is from June 28, 2004. I haven't taken any recent weightloss pix b/c I'm afraid I haven't made any progress. I am still 130 lbs, and low 20s in BF. Once I graduate in May 2005, I plan to train hard, eat more clean, and be completely proud of my body.
TheLemonSong September 28th, 2004, 01:00 AM Woe-
I hear ya, I think since summer ended and school started I've slacked big time too! Your pictures are an inspiration. Its great to see such stark contrast between the products of two different lifestyles! I think especially for those of us out there that are really working toward the kind of improvement you've shown, its motivational to know how hard you've worked to achieve the kind of fit look that you've achieved!
Keep up the good work,
-Andrew
woeisemma September 28th, 2004, 02:00 PM Thanks Lemon  It's not that I've been slacking, it's that I don't have the time to work out 5 days a week now due to school, work, and an internship. guava September 28th, 2004, 04:13 PM I REALLY want to have toned arms and a body similar to Guava's.
Well, that's interesting. Just about a year ago I gave up on wishing I had a body exactly like the one you have right now. You can't get much closer to perfection than that white bikini-clad pose. Anyway, once I focused on building my own version of beauty instead of trying to look like someone else, it became much easier for me. Being the best me that I can be is achievable, but trying to become Cindy Crawford is pretty much a waste of my time. I know you don't mean literally that you want to look like I look, but it's flattering nonetheless to have reached a point that others aspire to.
Your list, I like. It's interesting to think of random accomplishments and contemplate the amazing things that we've done so far with our lives. Yes, I am proud that I've danced with a stranger in a foreign country. Now excuse me while I go find a beggar to have a meaningful conversation with.
Bluestreak September 28th, 2004, 04:21 PM 71..holy crap!
I can say I've done 88 of them. About 10 are "iffy"... but I counted 'em. So you could whittle it down to 78...

Woe, woe woe.
First, welcome back and good for you! I'm "Back" myself!
I know you've heard it all a million times but you don't believe it. Your body at 130 is absolutely, stunningly gorgeous. Furthermore, your improvement from that week 2 photo is amazing! My girlfriend is much closer to where you were in week 2 then you are at 130 and I will be using you as a reference to her in her fitness goals (She has recently asked me for help and whatnot)
With that said, YOU being completely proud of your own body is something you can only define for yourself, from THIS man's perspective your body is very drool worthy.
I'm with Guava on this one...What is your ideal you are striving for? You already have a body that most women (and men!) would kill for! You might have unattainable/unrealistic goals.

Andrew.
woeisemma September 29th, 2004, 12:40 AM Guava, you have the arms I hope to own some day. The toned arms are what I WANT! I am so envious of women with toned arms that I have almost gotten(is that a word?) up the courage to ask toned-armed-women what they do for exercise to get that look. I guess I am so envious because I have the skinny part down, but I want to look strong and healthy. Anyone can be skinny-16 year old girls are skinny- but I want to look athletic because I consider working out and eating healthy a large part of my life and I need some evidence to prove myself when people act amazed that I lift weights.
woeisemma September 29th, 2004, 12:57 AM AKM3: Why were you gone from the boards? Have you ever posted your progress pictures?
Thanks for the compliments. I really don't know what my problem is(low self esteem, bad self image?). Lately I want to be thinner. 125. Or less. I think I want my body to look better because I am lacking in other areas that would make me feel good about myself(clothes, hair, makeup, materialistic things, due to lack of money). The only thing I can control is my weight and the grades I get in school. My ideal..I really don't know. I think I want to look in the mirror and say "Wow, I have muscles." Or maybe I want to walk into my college weight room and feel like I belong there. Therapy?
I thought Katie Uter was my ideal, but now I think she is too muscular for my taste.
woeisemma September 29th, 2004, 12:59 AM Yes, it does. Bigger boobs, tighter stomach, hack an inch or two off my thighs. Some day. It doesn't get much, if any, better than that my friend...
G_Man September 29th, 2004, 03:48 PM 104 give or take. I've had a good life and it keeps getting better! :D

It's a little tricky, yeah. It DOES take a lot of hard work to get the muscle that I have. Now I know it's true when they say you don't just bulk up overnight. Ten months of heavy weight lifting and I still don't look like the incredible hulk.
Sometimes I wonder about people that ask for fitness advice. I think most people are hoping for some easier answer than "Keep adding weights to your 2 pound dumbbells until you can curl 18 pounds." But, Emma, you've demonstrated that you have the determination and the patience to get to the spot where you want to be.

Yeah, I could go for some therapy. But going to the gym is cheaper, and it gives me similar results, I think. It was a couple of months ago that a friend of mine asked me, as he was drooling over my shoulders "Why are you losing so much weight? Stop it." So I explained to him that this is one of the few things in my life that I have control over. My time in the gym belongs to me, and me only. And all the successes that I make in there are MY successes. They are all a reflection of the power that I have inside me.
You're not allowed to have bigger boobs. Share the wealth.

LOL :) What you said was great. I can curl more than 18 lbs though..and still no visible muscles. I've been weight training for about 6 months.
Do you know what happened to Trinity, Freemason, or Chim-Chim? I know Trinity took a break b/c she was thinking about fitness too much..but what about the others?
woeisemma September 30th, 2004, 01:19 AM Around 10:30pm tonight I got a little depressed and lonely. I was also hungry..and since yesterday I had a free "night" and not a free "day", I decided to have two huney buns and a handful of peanut M&Ms tonight. Those three things brought my daily caloric intake to about 2500. I burned about 600 cals on the bike and did 35 min of upper body today so I think I should be fine. I just finished looking at the 2004 Arnold Classic Expo pix and I feel pretty crappy right now. I would LOVE to look like the fitness booth girls at the show; big fake boobs and all.
I've realized I normally binge when I'm lonely. I think this is because part of me thinks "no one cares what I look like anyway.." so that justifies my wanting to binge. :d_redface
Collegefour September 30th, 2004, 04:37 AM Nice to see you again, Woe. Hope things are going well.
Well, looks like I'm slacking. Only done 50 of the things on the list.....
Arwes September 30th, 2004, 05:18 AM Yep, great to see you back Woe! I don't know if I should be happy or sad that I checked off 68 things on that list.

Evil Hx Coupe October 1st, 2004, 11:13 PM Dont feel lonely or depressed.... You've made an awesome transformation and you have the whole JSF community to show when ever you make more progress towards your goal.

Hope you feel better, and are able to accomplish your goals.
woeisemma October 3rd, 2004, 01:13 AM Thanks guys :) Your kind words helped because tonight, Saturday, I was home alone while the b/f was at a bar so I did feel lonely ALLL night..but I didn't turn to food!
Life sucks when you have no friends and no money.
I'm proud of myself. I've completed the first month of my senior year and I have 4 A's and 1 B(Shakespeare - BLAH).
For my next free day I have a desire to see if I can eat an entire small cheese pizza by myself.
Dont feel lonely or depressed.... You've made an awesome transformation and you have the whole JSF community to show when ever you make more progress towards your goal.

woeisemma October 6th, 2004, 12:35 AM Here are my first few entries in Fitday - July 2002. (The only thing I knew about losing weight was I had to keep my calories low - preferrably under 1200 when I weighed around 150.)

Tomorrow I am going to try my hardest to eat as clean as I can. I took my measurements tonight and they are really pathetic. 22 inch thighs..27 inch waist. At 5'8'', 130lbs, and a size 4 in pants, I can't believe how large my thighs and waist are. My hips are 35in so it's really frustrating having such a large waist.

I graduate from college in May 2005 with a degree in English, but I think I am going to go back to school to become a Registered Dietician. :claplow: Anyone know anyone who is a RD?

With numbers like that, you should be quite pleased.

woeisemma October 7th, 2004, 09:15 PM When there's a group of guys lifting weights together, and when I walk through their group they all fucking stare at me like they're sizing me up - god forbid a GIRL use THEIR WEIGHTS. Then the bozo next to the machine I was gonna use that was free says "I'm using that one too." OK USE ONE MACHINE JERK! Then I hear one of them say "there's always one girl who gets in the way" OK STFU. THAT IS WHY I WANT TO LOOK TONED SO THEY BACK THE F OFF.
Marcman October 7th, 2004, 10:12 PM you should totally call them out on it and get up in their face next time. they would look like such an ass to anyone else that heard their stupid comment
and next time, just ask the guy if you can work in with him while he uses two machines at once miraculously. maybe he can use the machine that YOU want to use while you are taking a break.
sorry you go to a gym with such jackasses. people around here are pretty considerate with the limited space we have.
i too graduate in may 2005 but im just beginning getting my resume together and starting the trek to find a job! scary!!
good luck becoming a RD. sounds fun!
ABguy October 7th, 2004, 10:23 PM Well, if this helps, it's not just the guys.
I've got the she-man bully that follows me around and
says "you done ?" , every 30 seconds. Wassup with that ?
100 machines and she's got to be in my face no matter
how many open machines there are...

Weight: 133.5-down 1.5 lbs from yesterday

It is good sometimes to say, just bag it for the day.
You've been making such excellent progress. It si so motivating to me. I cannot yet imagine myself lifting for 10 months. I am just trying to get myself to do my body pump classes twice a week with Pilates twicw a week along with Cardio for 4x. Not there yet but getting closer.
Your pics are great!
I was wondering why you have your signature line about somove who is cutting (their wrists). Are you a psych major?
woeisemma October 11th, 2004, 02:33 PM Hi Justitia,
I'm not a psych major. The self-injury question concerns a family member who cuts herself and I am getting frustrated with her.

Today's weight: 133
Exercise goals for this week:

Anybody watch UPN's America's Next Top Model? That show is such a confidence downer! Ugh, the girls on there are so thin. The girls who are my height are a good 10-15 lbs lighter than me.

I think for my next round of photos, I am going to secretly spray myself down with oil or water and then apologize for looking sweaty b/c I just got done with an intense workout :p

That will actually do a lot to help your definition in your pictures. JS always applied lotion before his daily photo. It's hard to look defined with dry skin.
As for the 'top models', they're too thin. An athletic physique like what you're building will look better and you can maintain it well into your 40's and 50's if you work hard. Those skinny chicks will not look good when they're older unless they hit the weights too.

Too funny. I noticed that too. I'm waiting for the first person to tell the truth. "I took a picture, but couldn't see any muscle definition, so I greased myself up and look much more ripped now. Here's the pic."
woeisemma October 12th, 2004, 01:15 PM :D If I remember, I will spray myself with water before the next shoot and see if there is any difference.

woeisemma October 12th, 2004, 01:28 PM Today is supposed to be my free day, but I'm skipping it. I don't know when my next free day will be. My weight this morning was 132.5. I will feel comfortable having a free day once I see 130 or 129. My short term goal is 128 and long term is 125.
I ate 1750-1800 cals yesterday, no exercise, but was at school and work from 8am-9pm so I was moving around all day/night, and I lost .5 :) I can't believe I used to eat 1350 cals a day plus exercise for 45 min. I have to really limit my food intake now to get close to 1350.
My self esteem issues are beginning to haunt me in my sleep...
This morning I woke up almost crying b/c my dream was about me and two other girls. One of the girls was very attractive- tall, thin, pretty face though she had a weird, flat nose, and brown curly, near shoulder length hair. She was wearing a revealing outfit, something like a dark tight shirt and a black short skirt. My boyfriend was with me when I was talking to them. When my b/f and I were alone, I asked him if he thought the curly haired girl was more attractive than me, and he said Yes, because she has curly hair(he loves curly hair). I got really upset and woke up while I was making this weird almost-crying noise.
Marcman October 12th, 2004, 04:50 PM Woe: you are smoking hot right now. Everyone on this board has told you that. You just need to be surrounded by more supportive people - like us!
good luck continuing with the cut and dont stress so much about what other people think of you! just be happy with all that you've achieved and who YOU are as a person, which is an incredible smart, decidicated, awesome person! :D

Yes we should! If you are still having negative body image issues with how you look right now, you are at serious risk of developing eating disorders/other psychological problems.
Step back and re-evaluate.

lostmind October 12th, 2004, 07:44 PM woe - I just recently joined the forums and so I missed your whole transformation...
BUT
If thats you in your avatar then you are smoking hot. I know if I walked past you in public, I'd get a smack from my fiancee cuz my eyes would be following you... honestly, you have the body of a swimsuit model.
(Please dont think I am some creepy internet stalker drooling over you. I just dont think you need to worry about losing any weight with the body you have now. Just maintain it.)
woeisemma October 12th, 2004, 11:56 PM Hey Allen,
I have already gone through the eating disorder phase when I was 15-18. I was anorexic before I met my b/f, and I gained 30 lbs so quickly b/c I finally began to eat. I know better now and will never develop an eating disorder again. I do sometimes exercise too much, and I could see myself falling into that disorder, not sure what it's called, exercise nervosa? I know I have an image problem because a few weeks ago while I was at work, these two ladies told me I was very pretty, and I responded surprised, "REALLY? I thought I looked ugly today." I KNOW I could really benefit from counseling, but with insurance it's $1500 for three months. Yes we should! If you are still having negative body image issues with how you look right now, you are at serious risk of developing eating disorders/other psychological problems.
Step back and re-evaluate.

Yes, my avatar is me :) I think I'm going to upload all my progress pix in my journal. And..well..in real life I look more like a plain jane..so I don't think your eyes would follow me. When I'm out with my b/f he looks at anything that is skinny so I guess that adds fuel to my fire to be thinner. Every guy looks at other girls, prettier than me or not, so I need to get over it. Oh, and I've been maintaining my avatar pic for almost 4 months, so I'm getting bored! I need to do something.woe - I just recently joined the forums and so I missed your whole transformation...

woeisemma October 13th, 2004, 12:08 AM Ok yeah, getting compliments online are plentifull, but how come no goodlooking guys in real life compliment me? :( Don't answer..I'm just whining. Only WOMEN have told me I'm beautiful or very pretty at work. How weird is that? It's actually very flattering to be complimented by another woman, bc they are just being nice and not wanting anything in return. I'm going to upload my old progress pix tomorrow.there are PLENTY of other threads where many other guys have done just that, so im sure she's used to it
