Can anyone recommend a good utility for locking/hiding a folder on your computer? I found a few freebies online that I tried out but many were "heavy" for lack of a better word. I simply want to lock/hide a folder so that one needs a password to access its contents.
Thanks. :)

We use password-protected ZIP files at work to send sensitive information electronically. The ZIP file acts just like a regular folder when in your file browser window, except when you need to access the information, you enter a password to get into the file. WINZIP has this function and the program isn't that expensive. More securely, if you have XP Pro or the like, you can convert your file system to NTFS and set permissions on the folder to only the users you wish to give access. Anyone else is locked out, and there are no passwords to manage other than the one that logs you onto the machine. Much more convenient.

Did you look at True Crypt (http://www.truecrypt.org/)? That's kind of the gold standard.
Alternatively, you could control access to the folder by user permissions from within whatever OS you are using like Roger suggested. That's probably the easiest.
