I am 250 pounds, I really want to get down to 200 pounds by December, because me and my fiance are adopting Siberian Huskies and I want to have my health and energy in order to take care of them.

I can have a diet of around 1500-2000 calories, of all efficient foods, my GF is vegan so we have lots of nuts, vegetables and fruits around. I also have cliff bars, protein shakes and all that I can plug into my diet.

I have a foot injury so I can't run, I can only walk, I will try to walk 1/2 hour to 1 hour a day.

Finally, I have a gym membership, I can do high intensity weight lifting 2-3 X times a week.

Please tell me if I do all of this with discipline and consistency, that I can lose the weight and become in great shape by December. :bb:

Quick Edit: the 50 pounds number isn't important now that I think about it, I really shouldn't have that number as a goal, so I should modify this to ask if I do all those things, will I be in significant better position by the time we adopt those huskies in December? At least I will probably be on the right track?

Yes, you can. Anybody can change if the desire to change is greater than than the desire to stay the same or fall deeper out of shape. You sound motivated and ready. Try doing your walk fasted in the mornings. It really helps on fat loss.

Your calories sound a little low. You can probably lose weight in the 2,300 to 2,800 range. In the gym, don't do anything to further injure your foot so work on upper-body until the foot is better.

Here's wishing you all the best with your transformation. Oh, be sure you take some pics now from all angles and take before measurements to keep track of your progress. :tucool:

Yes you can.

You can do what Carguy said and incorporate weights into your routine, it's a must!

SGX is another way to go. You will lose fat on it. Chris, the owner, gives you the whole plan of what you must do.

Discipline is a must, whatever you decide to do. SGX just eliminates the guesswork. You may think it's pricey but Chris, I feel gives you a better plan online than most trainers do in person. In the end it's actually cheaper than some of those other bozos.

Good luck.

Yes ...you can....

Take Green Tea Extract twice a day.....along with Alpha Lipoic Acid.

Eat a little bit of protein at each meal. Like chicken...use your whey for first thing in the morning and pre and post workout.

Watch your carb count closer than an IRS agent doing Trump's tax return.

Stay away from simple carbs as much as possible except for post workout. Eat complex carbs any other time. Don't cut out eating carbs alltogether.

Simple carbs when you don't need them will pile on the fat.

Get a book on the Glycemic Index of foods.

I bet some of the findings will surprise you.

Do your weight training and walk whenever you get the chance.

Stay away from Cliff bars,Protein bars or any other bar.

Avoid simple carbs, chips, sweets, candy etc. in the evening.

If you have to snack in the evening use complex carbs, slow digesting protein and low-Glycemic foods.

Cut down on your potato consumption (if any). Ditch French Fries of any description totally (if any).

I wish you the best...:tucool::)

Pysiologically, this goal is attainable. Psychologically is the question: do you have the will, dedication, and constant diligence required? Please know that you can shed vast amounts of weight and get into a shocking state of fitness that you wouldn't believe in five months if you are serious about this.
