How do you guys manage to keep up with this day in and day out?

I have no problem getting my excercise in, but find it extremely difficult to eat certain items, especially trying to eat around a certain time of day.

Right now i sit at 6'0" 200lbs.
Main trouble areas is like always, waistline, I think im about 17%BF

I play Soccer for about 2-3 hours a day 3-4 days a week, and run some in my offtime. I am taking a small break from lifting through the week and when i start back will probably start supersets.

My goal is to get cut and hit about 180lbs. Although weight isnt important to some, I need less weight to increase my speed. I run solid 4.6 40's right now but want back down around 4.4-4.5.

Any ideas on how to improve, want more information?

I eat out a lot, but usually try and make it somewhere somewhat healthy, such as Subway.

I take a cooler everywhere with me with all my meals in it, wherever I go it goes. I also keep napkins and utensils in it with a bowl for mixing. It has been the best thing I have ever done for my diet.

Be careful, not all Subway sandwiches are healthy :)
Ask for the low fat ones. Like tuna sandwich.

There is very little on Subway's menu that is actually healthy. They did a lot of marketing to make people think their sandwiches were better than burgers at McDonald's. That's a pretty low bar to step over, and I'm not even sure they really do that. Their breads are all highly processed (yes, even their "wheat", which is just really died enriched, high GI junk), their meats loaded with preservatives, and a lot of the condiments are junk.

So, as Guillerr says, don't fool yourself too much.

Preplanning and pre-cooking should become second nature in time. Batch cook your meats and preproportion everything 1-2 times a week so as not to be stuck without a healthy meal. Have healthy snacks ready and protioned, and the cooler idea is a good one if you are always on the go like a lot of us are.

I used to eat out all of the time even after deciding to try to get healthier, but I soon realized it was doing me no good and that with a bit of planning, I could do much better for myself.

Sundays and Wednesdays are big cook days for me.
Meats, veggies, etc...

On a daily basis I tote some tupperware containers with me. I have a mini-fridge in my office...

I also carry a cooler wherever I go. I make sure I have ice blocks in there and I use a lot of tupperware throughout the week. It is hard at times but you and the people you live and work with will get used to it.

I also pre-cook some of my meals on Sunday nights and I rely on tuna cans and packages througout the week.

The short time you spend prepping and cooking food on weekends or whenever possible will be your best spent time of the week. I spend about 2 hours on Sunday getting food ready for the coming week - pretty much nothing compared to what I'd spend if I were to do it all individually :)

If you want it, you will make a way. If you don't, you won't.

Lots of us are very busy and have figured it out. You can, too.

Really, it gets easier after you get in the habit. It's just part of life for me. I can't think of doing things differently.

Keep it simple. If you're trying to prepare elaborate meals, you'll get caught up in details and find it too much. I buy a big package of boneless, skinless chicken breasts each week and cook enough to get me through half the week by tossing them in the oven, then cooling them down and putting them in the fridge. Add a couple to some frozen vegetables (I get broccoli and/or green beans) in a microwaveable container, and you have as many meals as you need to carry you through the day.

It can get a little boring, but I do carry spices and condiments with me and/or keep them at work so I can add some interest to the meals, but usually I consider most of my during-work-hours meals to be something to get me through the day, and I'll make something more elaborate for dinner, so I'll have that to look forward to.

I couldn't deal with the simple thing. I'm always making something different.
