Hi,

I saw this in another thread: http://forums.johnstonefitness.com/showthread.php?t=32246&page=2

what time of day do you do the 2nd session? does that fat burner bother your sleep at night since you are taking it later in the day?

I do it about 4 or 5 p.m.

No, no issues sleeping at all.

Does this mean SC recommends 2 sessions of cardio per day? So my workout would look like this:

Mon: AM LISS, Gym, PM LISS
Tue: AM LISS, PM LISS
Wed: AM LISS, Gym, PM LISS
Thu: AM LISS, PM LISS
Fri: AM LISS, Gym, PM LISS
Sat: AM LISS, PM LISS
Sun: Off

It seems a bit too intense for me. At the moment I do Mon, Tue, Wed Gym and no cardio at all. If the above is incorrect method (which im guessing it probably is too much), what would you recommend?

Thanks! :tucool:

For what it's worth, I went from 220 to 167, starting from 01-01-08 (just about done with initial fat loss). During most of that time, I've been doing two LISS sessions per day, almost every day - just going for a walk along the esplanade near where I live.

I'm not sure if there was a difference compared to just doing one longer LISS session, but it was certainly more manageable for me.

everyone is different, i've seen some of the people on this forum get ripped as hell without any cardio at all. only doing weight training and focusing on good nutrition, while some do two sessions a day.

your best bet is to start with a lower amount of cardio imo. if it works, thats awesome. if you can get the results you want doing cardio 3-4 times a week, then you're in good shape (for the time being). why do cardio 14 times a week, if you are shedding 2lbs of fat a week doing it 3 times? it would be overkill...

another benefit to starting with a lower amount of cardio is that once you lower your BF% and the fat starts being more stubborn and harder to shed, you can increase cardio to help counter that. if you start out doing 14 sessions a week, there's no way you could really increase your cardio if need be.

it's important to note that 3-4 sessions a week might not get the results you want. its just the principle really. you may need 6-7 to get the results you want.

while i fully believe that nutrition is the number one tool for fat loss, followed by weight lifting, cardio can be a good tool and you don't want to "blow it" by going nuts with it when you don't even need to ha

Cool, thanks for the replies.

I am currently walking the dog ( at least 30mins) every day as well as my good nutrition and weights program. I'm considering doing work on the bike with morning LISS sessions also but will wait until i'm fully into the routine before I do so.

Thanks again, always appreciated :tucool:
