View Full Version : Indicators which don't change.

Hi John.

I'm, not sure if this is a glitch or just my (work) computer. When I view new threads/posts, the green indication beside that thread does not change to black until I visit that thread/post a second time.

It means I'm taking longer to zip around the site, and gets a bit irritating when I forget which areas I've been in.

Any chance of a cause for this, and if so, a solution?

I'd be curious to know if anyone else has this quirk.

Andrew.

Hmmm....

Logged out, then back in again......

Problem gone.

Hi John,

This niggle is still there. If I jump around the site, then the indicators at the sides don't keep up. However, if I move up and down the hierarchy for the pages 'JOHN STONE FITNESS FORUMS > Other Forums > Technical > Indicators' then there's no problem.

Is it just me, because of it being a work computer, or am I even making sense?

Andrew.

I've noticed the same thing -- very annoying. I'm going to experiment with my cache setting a bit, and if the problem persists I'll ask about it on the vB support board. This is a new release of vB (actually just an RC), so the possibility of some remaining little bugs is strong. I'll get back to you on it. :)

Here's the answer straight from one of the developers:

"This will not update until your session ends - either by logging out or having no activity within the cookie timeout period."

Not what I was hoping for...
