those last few pounds are always the killer, because the body wants to KEEP that fat! what is your current workout and cardio schedule like? since you are within sight of the finish line, have you considered double cardio sessions 2 or 3 days a week, ie slower extended cardio sessions(45 minutes) in the morning and another in the evening, separated by 8 hours? thats usually a last resort, but if you are that close ludvig78, it should only be 2 weeks of work.

I'll take that plateau :)

Supposedly incorporating a cheat day (with a perfect diet the other 6 days a week) jump starts your metabolism and fat loss.

From what I learned from nutrition class, hitting a plateau doesn't necessarly mean you are not losing weight. When you burn fat, you produce energy and water. Water is sotred and takes a while to get out of your body.

Hi Ludvig

For how long have you not lost any weight?
You have to be patiant, ~2 weeks thatīs a plateau to me.
Iīve actually had a few of them myself, and I just waited untill I started dropping again.

A cheat day or a whole cheat weekend could do you good :D

how long do plateau usually last? I have been at the same weight since January, there are days where i think i lost but then maybe the next days those pounds are back on. I dont understand what i doing wrong. In January '03 i started weight watchers and i still have my weight book this time last year i had already lost 29 pounds. Im still keeping track of points, still walking on the treadmill 6 days a week, the only new thing i have added is lifting weights. I just dont know what to do anymore.

I think I need to be more honest against myself. I cheat way too much. I think I have a decent base physic which gives me the option to cheat without to much of a notice. I have like 2 pounds or something to lose to be in the shape I want to be. I have started a diet thread under the journals. Will go for 13 days and then have a cheat day. I was down on 176 this morning and last night I did a 10 and 7 standing bardell military press with 142 lbs so I still feel pretty strong. If I start losing strength i will add on more food. ;)
