the more you eat the more you toot!

What kind of beans are you favourite, and how do you utilize them in your cutting plan. Do you eat them more because they are high in dietary fiber? or because they are relatively high in proteins and are a good filler.

Beans aren't one of my favorite things, but I've been trying to eat them more often, because they're so cheap and packed with such great things, and because I'm not crazy about how much of our natural resources go into the production of red meat.

I have problems getting enough iron in my diet, and kidney beans seem to be a really great source. I like this recipe for bean salad (http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Kerrys-Beany-Salad/Detail.aspx), but I usually take the oil and corn in half and omit the rice.

Black bean chili is one of my favorite "power foods". Really good with pumpkin and extra lean ground turkey in it (http://littlefoodies.blogspot.com/2006/10/pumpkin-turkey-and-black-bean-chili.html). :eat:

I eat garbanzo beans (chickpeas) once in a while, usually in the form of dry-fried falafel, and sometimes as an extra garlicky hummus to dip raw vegetable sticks into.

The more you toot, the better you feel,
so eat some beans with every meal!

I haven't eaten any sort of legume in so long. I get plenty of fiber and protein without them, sooo...

I definitely plan to start having them more often when I bulk though. Can't afford the carbs (nutritionally speaking) at the moment, anyway.

Red Beans and Rice is a staple in Louisiana. I usually make a pot of them every 1-2 weeks and freeze individual portions with brown rice. Much better than any TV dinner and I can make about 10 "dinners" for about $4.

I put kidney beans and black beans (both without salt added) into my chili.
