Ever since I was a kid, I thought cottage cheese was gross. But I picked some up the other day. And I got to say this is the miracle diet food I had long waited for. Not only is it ridiculously healthy and high in protein, it completely satisfies my uncontrollable cravings for cheese! with this I can move onto a new golden age, where kraft low fat cheese slices will have NO part in my diet anymore :)

agreed. I have always liked cottage, but only ate it occasionally in the past. when I really started cutting about 5 months ago I starting using cottage cheese as big part of my diet. I had to take a break from it after like 30 containers of it though.

Ditto! I hated how it looked as a kid, and never liked cheese anyway. I made myself like cottage cheese and a host of other healthy food choices.

Whenever someone tells me they won't eat something because they don't like the taste, I know that what they are really saying is they don't want to like the taste. With a bit of determination, one can adopt a "taste for" nearly any food item.

I never really liked cottage cheese growing up, I think it has something to do with the fact my grandmother used to eat it mixed with tuna fish and I tried it once and almost threw up!

Haha, but I am going to give it a try because I need more protien in the morning. :D

P.S - my grandmother is weird!

Try it with fruit in it. I get those little delmonica (sp) fruit snacks and mix it with cottage cheese if I do not have fresh fruit. Like peaches, and pears.

Never used to like it, but made myself acquire the taste for it a few months ago and now I buy 15 lbs a time at costco (about once a month).

Still don't care for it plain, but with stuff mixed in it's great.

For post-workout I like to eat this:
- Cottage Cheese (200g)
- One sliced banana
- Just a bit of honey.

All mashed together. It tastes like candy, but high in protein and (healthy) carbs.

I love cottage cheese now too. I mix in 1 scoop of Mucle Milk Lite as a base. Then add canned pumkin, cinnamon, and splenda for a dessert like pumpkin pie. Or add in fruit (even canned cranberries). Or for low-carb breakfast, just the MM Lite and cinnamon. A good replacement for ice cream after dinner.

I haven't eaten cottage cheese in a long, long time but finally bought some this week. It really is an excellent source or protein, and it's quick and easy to eat. I've been eating it all week, but man, it's some bizarre stuff  It's like sour, lumpy yogurt.

I prefer to eat cottage cheese with pineapple personally... takes the edge off of it.

I did once buy cottage cheese with chives and it was horrible. Ate it anyway and by the time i'd finished a tub it wasn't too bad.

To me food is fuel... cheat meals are for pleasure  It was the only way I could get on to a decent eating plan and stick to it.

You are spoiled in the UK for cottage cheese. There's load of varieties in the supermarkets and it's tastier than the ones in North America.

Cottage cheese over here, in Canada at least is almost a bit slimy and bland. I can only assume it's from the types of cheese it's made from (it's the left over whey from the cheese making process).

UK/European cottage cheese is a bit drier and has a creamier taste (plus all the flavors you can get. I do miss it along with Quorn. Langley Farms do the nicest I reckon.

I eat 2-3 lbs of nonfat CC every day. Usually 1.5 lbs at M1 (7 AM) and 1.5 lbs M3 (2 PM, post workout). From these two meals alone, I get 180 gm of protein, 60 gm of carbs, and 0 fat - all at only 960 calories.
