View Full Version : Opticen vs. Maximus for PWO?
dcg Sat, June 14th, 2008, 10:38 PM Any thoughts on Opticen vs. Maximus for PWO? Maximus has a bigger serving size, but assuming one used equal serving sizes it seems like it might be a better option - a few more carbs, and it's got microlatin/flaxseed oil/inulin which Opticen lacks. Opticen seems to have more in the way of vitamins but I take a multi and am not so concerned about getting them in my shakes.
From a calories/$$ standpoint, Maximus is a bit cheaper as well.
What does everyone recommend?
Big_D Sat, June 14th, 2008, 11:30 PM I think opticen is specifically designed for PWO, whereas you do not want the oil in Maximus immediately PWO.
chris mason Sun, June 15th, 2008, 12:09 AM Both products will work well, but MAXIMUS is the better choice for your $ if funds are limited. On a related note, MAXIMUS should be used daily (at least one serving).

1. From a macro standpoint
2. Of whether I'd be better off with the additives in Maximus vs. the vitamins/minerals in Opticen.

Ok, then I would say strictly PWO go with Opticen. For overall training support, and daily use, the extras in MAXIMUS make it a better product.

Opticen - greater % of calories from fat, more vitamins
Maximus - greater % of calories from carbs, microlatin/flaxseed oil/inulin
Obviously that's a pretty high level/simplified view of things, but am I missing anything major?
