I'm really full right now, and my abs are still sore from getting back to weights this week. But for some reason, I really want to eat something else. Like a spoonful of peanut butter with a few semi-sweet chocolate chips on top. Or a handful of nuts. Or another serving of the dinner I made.

It's like my stomach is sending signals but my brain's just not getting them.

How do you handle situations like this?

1) Eat slower. Give your brain a chance to hear the signals.

2) Take a break. Odds are the feeling will pass.

Whack head against desk a few times. Either the pain will distract you or unconciousness will interrupt the craving.

Do something physical, like take a walk or even go for a drive. Something that takes you out of whatever environment you're in. Snacking can be like any other habit, in that certain environments can trigger the urge to do so. Change your environment (even a little), and you may get rid of that trigger.

Protein and fat meals make me feel full for hours...

I have a pretty big problem when I wake up at night ravenously hungry and I can't sleep until I eat something....I fixed this by having a before bed protein shake and a couple tablespoons of natty P.B....

Not sure when you have the hunger, but be sure the time is right for your fats....you don't really want them post-workout.

I get that all the time. I also buy baby carrots 4 lbs at a time. I eat a lot of carrots.

To be honest, usually I eat. What I've found, though, is that my appetite seems to be better or worse moderated depending on what my overall diet is like. So this is the target of my efforts more often than individual meals.
