View Full Version : Leg Cramps while sleeping?

The other night I had the very unpleasant opportunity to wake up to my leg from the knee down cramping up. It lasted at least a minute according to my clock and when I could move my leg again I was not feeling good.

I took Motrin but still limped around for two days after that.

What I'm wondering is what caused this and how I can avoid it. It's never happened before other than my foot cramping up when I flex my toes just right.

I got out of my workout routine a couple weeks ago due to piercings and tattoos that needed recovery time so I'm currently getting back on track. Could my lack of exercise cause something like that?

Is it possible it was nutritional? I may be lacking some things, dunno that I have an excess of anything in my system though. And I don't know enough about nutrition to diagnose cramps except for possibly excess magnesium?

I would really just like an explanation of how I can avoid this happening again. As I said, it was not pleasant and it would really cut into my workouts.
